Brembo ≠ Mod... right?
I am fairly new here. Been a long time lurker, and recently picked up an 04 Laser Red 6MT. My question is this: when looking at so many signatures, mod lists, etc, I see people listing OEM Brembos as if they are a mod. This is kind of wonky to me, as it is fairly obvious that a person had Brembos initially if they own a 03/04 MT coupe. I mean, it is just the stock setup after all...
So my question is: why do people consider Brembo in their mod lists? Is it because of a lack of other mentionable modifications? Because they believe it is a mod? Because they are just listing OEM goodies? I don't see people listing OEM seats in such lists, so why include stock brake calipers? I am not flaming anyone, just wanted to have a discussion about this.
Oh, and I am loving my G experience thus far. I consumed a good bit of data and researched the car for the past year before making my purchase. I tested about 4 or 5 coupes over 7 months before landing on the one I knew would be mine. I come from a long line of Honda's primarily. 2 Preludes, 2 del Sols, 2 S2000s a Civic and a Legend coupe.
I feel like I have grown up with the acquisition of my coupe- she is more mature and sophisticated than anything else I have owned. Sadly, she is more thirsty and less thrifty, but I knew that before I got in this car of course. Long live VQ

.Anyway, I wish I had some of what you're on. Check sig for reference. BREMBOZ, OEM LIP, LED'z? HORSEPOWER MAN, HORSEPOWER.
edit: I'm gonna add leather seats to my sig.
It is a lack of mentionable modifications. When it's in a sig, it's not necessarily a 'mod list', it's just a way to say "Hey, mo'fo's, I'z got's deez mo'suckrin' Brembaz.' Do you have Brembo's? Add it to your sig. It means: "I, am awesome."

Along that same line there was a guy on here that took his non-brembo and made them look like brembo..Painted them gold and put the Brembo stickers on it. Looked pretty bad imo.
I almost wasted money on the Akebono "Infiniti" brake kit from a sponsor of this site. Just for the 'looks'.
I might do it later when I need my pads and rotors replaced. It'll probably cost the same.
Those thing do look pimp.

Brembos are an upgrade . if you ever drove a 03=04 with stock brakes then one with Brembos you would want them on your car too .
The 05 -06 2 piston is a slight upgrade from the 03-04 but the OEM Brembos own all stock calipers on these cars .
The only competitor is the G37 Akebonos.

yup right out my *** !
Ive driven all 3 set ups on a track and autocross ,
ive put them to the test.
during a track day you will see the 05-06 fade just like the 03 -04 and the brembos will still hold on strong.
overall the Brembos are better , if you like you 05 brakes more power to ya .
Ill take the brembos any day and call it a MOD.

This isn't a hard concept to comprehend, you can say better on resisting fading/track use and say it is better in that sense. But it isn't better in all ways like you inferred in your previous post. Initial braking, brake dust, cost of replacement, etc. are all places where they are inferior to other stock options.
