How can something be a modification if it came standard on your car? Its a standard option, not a modification.

Putting Akebonos on an older G is a mod, it didnt come on the car, you added it, thats a modification.

Thats like saying replacing the OEM tires on a car is a mod, its not, the car came with tires

Upgrading to a better tire alters the traction/handling characteristics of a car, so yes, it can be a modification.

 

My take on it is that they are referring to their trim level and not their mod list. People list things like:

"06 5AT IP Coupe" in their sig even though the car came as an '06, it came with a tranny, it came already painted IP, and it came as a coupe. Not everything listed in the sig is necessarily a mod.

As others have mentioned, there are not very many G35s with stock Brembos, just like there are not many with Navi. To some, that makes them worth mentioning.

 

I guess if you need to impress people by telling them your "better" tires are a modification, then go for it. Kinda petty in my eyes. Dont think Id ever list my BFG KDWs as a mod.

Tires, tint, a fancy little shift ****, aluminum dash kit, those arent even mods worth mentioning, but if they mean that much to someone, list away. Usually its guys with a 98% stock car who feel the need to list something like a license plate frame on their modlist... whatever floats your boat.
