Riding on 20s

For you guys that are riding on 20" wheels - what happens when you're away from home, and you have a flat? Can't use the dougnut spare, what's the alternative. I want to take my coupe to NJ this weekend, but a little concern about flats... Was thinking about putting one of my spare 20s or 19s in the trunk Just trying to be proactive.

Gotten to the point, I've put so much into this car, I'm scared to drive it now...How sick is that...damn..

What makes you think you cannot use the spare, I have already done so on 20's and not a single issue for the brief period that I needed the spare. This is of course considering you are keeping to the proper tire fitments for 20's (which you usually have to do in order for them to clear) and of course this would not be for any long distances or high speeds (just as with any donut spare).

I have used my spare b4.. and didn't have a problem... I wasn't gonna leave my car on the side of the road.. If u keep the proper specs (diameter) when u bought ya car then u should not have a problem using the spare

You're not alone........just drive you coupe and enjoy you'll be fine with the donut spare. If you have that kinda $$ in your G don't you have decent/quality rubber?

You can use the spare but I bring one of my stock 19s with me on long trips because I don't have the spare anymore and with a stock tire you can drive normal speed vs 50 on the dohnut

a nail or something can puncture your tire regardless if you have a Michelin pilot super sport tire or a nexen 3000 tire..

I've had to use my doughnut twice. I didn't have any trouble with it. Don't worry too much.

Later,

Of course...just making sure we're on the same page, and not missing anything... I usually don't worry about flats... I have about 4 set of wheels, and all of them have good rubber on them.. I'm going to visit my family in Jersey City...and I need to make sure my ducks are in row when I go there..and that just came to mind...I'm good thanks guys..

Doughnut still good with 245/35/20F - 275/30/20R?

AAA Plus is the one you want - 100 miles free towing

Honestly dude its what you encounter on the road that will cause you to have a flat. I have some cheap nankang tires that came with my set of R1 wheels. I have put about 9000k miles on them and I had one nail which I was able to patch. When I had that flat, I got my car towed (AAA plus is awesome). In those 9000k miles I drive around Wash DC, NYC, and driving back and forth from the two cities. I hit a fair amount of inevitable potholes, bumps, crazy road construction, and they've held up. I am waiting to burn through these tires before I get a set of good tires. For those with 20s, can you fit the 18" OEM wheel in the spare tire spot?
