How do i burn out on a 6MT?

So i try to do a burn out.
This is what i did and this was inside a parking lot

Clutch in 1st gear.
Rev to 4k RPM.
Pop clutch.
Then start adding lots of gas.

Now everytime i press the brakes my car shuts down. I try it again but this time i add more gas and it still shuts down on me.

You are doing it wrong. You can only burn out by sitting on the rev limiter for 5 seconds then dumping the clutch. Works everytime
