The VQ are known for its crappy rings and pistons.

Sucks man, maybe you can return the car to the buyer. There is a statute of limitation so you better act quick.

I've seen a few Court TV rule in the buyers favor. Next time, tell yourself this. It's probably 11k for a reason.

Well this is where I'm at now. The mechanic told me I can probably put new plugs in but It wouldnt last me more than a month soooo... Either going to look for a used engine (found one with 60k for 1200 shipped with warranty for a year) or put plugs in and go trade it in at a dealership towards a suv that the wife needs and get another g next year. I'll figure this out in the next few days

I agree. There are laws to protect you even through private party sales. You should look into it. You have all the proof you need that the car was damaged when you bought it. It would be worth your time!

Yeah he swears he had no idea of any problem about the car. But he keeps saying no I told u about the smoking. No way he said it but whatever. So anywho I have the car parked underneath a tree now and hoping that hurricane Irene drops the tree on my car Sunday

Do the plug thing and trade it in. Pass this headache along to some dealership, I understand your frustration!

Hey so paperwork from Nissan says leak down test performed and still have good compression but found oil control ring failure in cyl 6. Anywho hoping that the ring is not completely broken I bought some stuff from autozone called rislone?? For ring sealing and a new spark plug cause what else do I have to lose.
I'm going to start looking for an engine after me and the family get back from vacation next month but in the meantime going to start researching what I can about replacing this. Maybe a long shot but anybody know of a DIY for replacing the engine?

Ok so today changed the bad spark plug out and poured in that stuff I mentioned earlier and at first it was smoking like crazy until I drove it around for a while. And for the first time since I've had the car it pulls like a mother f'er. Finally the power I've been waiting for... Still a tiny bit of smoke under heavy acceleration but finally a blast to drive. Planning on beating the he'll out of this motor till I can afford a new one

If you don't beat on your G35 there's a chance it will last a long time. Believe it or not all things mechanical have feelings too just like people, treat her right!

Bro there's no this engine lasting long. And fortunately when I bought my house last year less than a mile from work so if it gives before I can replace it then oh well I have alot of other projects for this car in the meantime. I just have to wait until after vacation and get through the holidays then it will be project g season. At first I was completely depressed about buying this car but now I'm looking at it as opportunity for me to learn
