Tire Sizes. Make a difference?
Tire Sizes. Make a difference?
It's time for new tires and im not a tire expert here.
When i was researching i saw that with different tire sizes it will effect the speedometer. Does this even bother you guys?
I have OEM 19" Rays
Im currently running: F 225/40/19, R 245/40/19 (both kumho)
Im planning to run: F 245/40/19 with FALKEN FK452, R 255/40/19 with HANKOOK V12 Evo K112, How does this sound? Is this a good combo?
Yes i heard Falken sucks but its running Front so it wont hurt right?

The combo and sizes are fine but the Falkens are not! I wouldn't put Falkens on my Honda (lawn mower) and this is from experience. If you can't afford Michelin's go with Yokohama's or Nittos on all four corners. You'll like the way the 245s feel on your front end as apposed to the 225s you've been running, way better control....
Check with wwwthetirerack.com for good prices unless you have an in with a tire shop. Which ever tire you choose make sure the tires have a UTOG close to 300 or just below. That determines what kind of mileage you'll get from your tires and how soft or hard the compound is....Good Luck!Gary
^+1 The vibration from the 452s will be aweful, esp in the front end under braking.
I usually buy from these guys and have my tires shipped to a shop.

Some have put 275x35 on before with apparently no problems. That extra 5mm of height may give you a little more leeway as far as footprint, but I would be leery with anything over 255s. I haven't seen 265s in person so I can't comment on that.

There is a link on discount tire's website where you can put the current size you are running (OEM), and the upgraded size you would like to use. The program will compute the variances the upgraded size will make for your vehicle.

u got any pics of your 275/35 so i can get an idea how it looks like on our cars?
Any reason why you don't recommend the Hankook V12's? I'm going to be needing new rear tires soon and this is what I was looking at. I've only heard good reviews on them considering the price but haven't checked the UTOG rating yet. Hell, even if they wear quick, they're pretty darn cheap.

I have 265's on my stock 18 inch rear........ Michellin Pilot Sport 2, Michellin makes them for Porches.... I have 10+K miles on them without any problems

There are also a lot of consumer complaint about michelin tires as well. check the link..

I wouldn't buy the cheapest tires out there but go somewhere in the middle and you can't go wrong. Unless your tracking your car, of course, then buy some expensive tires.
For the record, I have primewell pz900 on my rears and cooper zeon sport on my fronts. I don't have a problem with either of them and they are both cheap.
