These are the first few comments in this thread... Sure, we teased him, but it definitely was not attacking... And the way he reacted? I'm pretty sure THAT is the reason things started going downhill.

I'd recommend doing some exhaust mods, at least get a 350z Y-Pipe and some high flow cats. Motordyne plenum spacer is a great bang for the buck, or spend a bit more for a motordyne plenum. Modding your intake (dont go cold air) is a good one, thats a realatively easy thread to find. To get major improvement your basically stuck with turbo.
Happy hunting!

IMO the downfall of the forum is instead of ignoring a repetative ?, people are getting all pissed and spending a rediculous amount of time bitching about it. Just anwer the ? or ignore it...

Okay, I'll spend more time answering the question than the OP did thinking it up...

LS1 or VK56 engine swap.

I hope this was helpful.

OP, if you are trying to get some good hp gain, just get FI (Turbo or SC). I would also suggest to get exhaust system and upgraded intake, such plenum spacer, intake tube and filter, and intake plenum. These are some bolt on mods that are somewhat affordable, but if you really have money to spend just get FI'd and tune....

What this website has become?

I've been here since 05 and it's exactly questions like this that have made the forum a mish mash of wasted space.

I you ask unspecific questions, you can expect, and in my opinion, deserve ridiculous answers.

Honestly - if you want to know about performance mods, why aren't you posting in the tech section? Did you bother to read the stickies people here have taken the time to create and edit to answer EXACTLY the question you just asked? Did you read the hundreds of threads about engine mods to get a feel for what you might be interested in?

No. You didn't.

You walked in and started another thread expecting people to serve you up information on a plate, then got butt hurt when you got teased.

And then you have the stones to talk $hit about what this forum has become...

Look inward.

Clearly the best mod for speed is adding a FLUX CAPACITOR

I agree with the guy that said spending money on performance parts on a G is a waste of time. If you got enough cash for FI, go for it. If not, don't waste your money on bolt ons. Get a ztube/k&n combo for like $80 for sound and call it a day. Spend the rest on appearance.

I will search for a topic before I post but after 15 minutes if I don't find what I'm looking for I would post a new thread if I wasn't sure that I'd be bashed about my questions being common knowledge.

Sometimes using the search function doesn't lead directly to an answer... It could be page 6 16th post from the top in a 40+ page thread. Does that mean everyone should be patient enough to read that much?

If I have something negative to say, I try to be mature and let it go. Or respond in a constructive way that doesn't scream "get off our website". Negative remarks really help no one and they are a waste of everyone's time.

Someone recently posted about installing a Z tube... and he got crap for it. Why does someone have to do a LSX swap to get props around here? There was a thread about this on my.is Malekrezza with a supra 2jz-gte swapped engine (by himself) had the same issues. People on my.is would be all over his nuts and other guys who had superchargers, turbos, custom wide body kits... but they would heckle any member who posted their pictures with clear corners... or springs. To be honest the biggest *******s I've met / interacted with always have the nicest / most modded cars.

I'm not trying to tell you what to do, or to change your ways. Just think about it. Make up your own mind. Put yourself in their shoes. The way I see it, no matter if your car is twin turbo, slammed, hellaflush, completely stock, or rice. We are all human beings. There is absolutely nothing that makes one of us better than the rest of us.

P.S. - I came from a GS300 to a G35 Sedan to now a G35 Coupe. So many newcomers post in the respective forums after modding their cars and are being told they are doing it wrong. There is no wrong, only how they like it. I'm not a fan of slammed cars with fat lip rims cambered out. I feel like it's just another automotive trend. Yet someone with unique mods will not get as much "respect" for their mods compared to someone who goes mainstream. Again this is my opinion, but I respect people who pave their own path and don't get the everyday common typical mods. Unless of coarse they really do like it. Who am I to say they don't?
^^1+ Very good - this is something I agree with - because you're not going with the auto trend - ur work is not appreciated (e.g. black grilles) - nice post...

I don't agree with the comment about what this site has become - I still love it here...

exhaust. it will give you some gains, but...it will give you around 400+HP on the butt dyno. for real. you will get the sensation of speed cause your car is louder.

but what kinda speed do you need? top end? more torque? this is why you get teased. there are about 394,372 different ways we can answer your questions. if its not a track car......what good is "speed?" cause you don't wanna be driving like a retard on city streets and endangering the lives of other drivers and pedestrians.

think about if your mom/dad/sibling/GF/BF/BFF was killed cause some doucher in a "fast" car t-boned them and they were seriously injured or killed. still wanna drive fast on city streets?

Best mod for speed is a hollowed out compartment under the spare tire, can easily fit a whole bunch of meth or crack down there and if you wrap it with coffee beans and tin foil you'll be gtg!

Sorry, but the responses that you're getting are pretty much the norm for this forum. Used to be a great place to get helpful info but, those days are long gone. At least you haven't received the traditional search post. Don't expect much from this forum anymore. There are a few people who really provide helpful responses but, many more who are just too cool, dude with their slammed whips, rolling dubs, full body kit. Been a member since 2003 sorry you missed the good old days.

Yep great answer STAFF...been here since 2003 bought my G in 2002 very hard to get back then. This forum didn't used to be this way... go ahead and BAN me!!! Here's an opinion...noobs are usually excited about their newly acquired G's and want to become a part of this community. They want the other members to know that they now own a G. But, what do they get...a welcome and direction to the proper place to find the info they seek. Hell no...they get crap.
