That's a tough call. The SL has another 70 ft-lbs of torque, but also has another 600 lbs of curb weight.

The SL is a 5AT however, and that may make all the difference.

hm.. i would say sl500 especially from rolling start. i saw sl500 running high 13s at the drag strip, and it seemed pretty much stock. doesn't it come with 7 speed AT? i could be wrong though.

Why do people post threads like this? The author of these posts are usually young kids who get into arguments at the lunch table (in highschool) with one of their friends.

My answer is... "Who cares?"

"So, who do you think would win from a roll, a Neon or a snapper ninja mulcher?"

Everyone needs to stop comparing these types of cars with the G. A SL500 would tear a G apart. I still love the G though. Just come on what next? A Ferrari Enzo vs. G35c???

Dude! So, like the other day, I was like walkin to the mall and stuff, an I seen like this killer mulcher this dude had. And I was like, "Hey dude, is that thing faster than a Neon or what?" And he was like"way" and I was like "Dude". It was so cool man. I 'm gonna get me one with some killer flames and some bangin' tunes and roll the streets.

More cylinders means nothing. EVO and STi are fast. They only have 4.

The thing is...we are driving G35, what's the point of racing a SL. So what if we win? He's still driving a SL. Racing a Is300 or same level car maybe a different story.

if you think an SL will tear a G up then obviously you dont know your car enough.. i raced two sl500s at once and pretty much had a 3way tie with them (one was dead even with me and the other was just a little ahead(not even a car length) because he took off first). had i been a better driver i think i would have won by a little. performance wise the SL and G are very similar from a stop... from a 70mph roll i have no doubts that an SL will spank a G.

I must agree. But I have to add that the SL500's aren't too quick. It's the skill of the 6MT driver for the G35c. The SL55 and SL600's on the other hand... Prepare to get your *ss handed to you.

Why don't you just get a 50shot nitrous and you'll know for sure who'll win.

... and do it off public roads.

I don't mind the G vs XXX posts but people seem to think, for no reason at all, that more cylinders = faster car. Whatever happened to horsepower, weight, gearing, aerodynamics, etc.?

All i have to say is, Thankyou, Thankyou.... Thankyou and one last Thankyou

My friend was on sl500's tail all the time on the mountains with my 6mt sedan and yea he (sl500) was pushing it. If we were in front we would loose him in about 3 turns.
