The Bose is OK, it's neither very good or absolutely terrible either. I'm planning on totally replacing the stereo system with the JDM double DIN conversion, Clarion DRZ9255 high-end head unit, Dynaudio speakers (8" in doors, 5.25" in custom kick panels), 3 JL Audio amps, and a JL 12W6v2 subwoofer. (If I could I would get McIntosh amps- totally awesome but ultra expensive.) My budget is $6000 for the whole install which includes Cascade sound deadening material (better than Dynamat) throughout the interior.

I agree...the bose sounds terrible. For some reason the radio doesnt sound too bad but when listening to cd's the speakers rattle and there is a ton of distortion. My 03 Accord Coupe had a much much better sounding stereo

You are so right about the WRX stock system, I swapped out my speakers in the first 2 weeks. I've even heard the upgraded system, completely a waste of money.

I dunno if Honda improved their sound systems in 2003-2004 but I know the 2002-earlier years had one of sh*ttiest sound systems I've ever heard. They were terrible. The bose has its flaws and thats obvious but comparing to the Honda systems is a little extreme. Like I said I haven't heard the 2003-2004 so I could be wrong but from past experience no way. The Bose is definitely not as rich as it should be nor as clean as it should be. It would need a lot of refining in our car. I've driven the S55 with the Bose and thats incredible. Its also the equivalent of a couple G35's in pricing. One thing I can say for the G35 is that you have to actually love the car and have the patience for the car to deal with it. There are a couple of things that you to deal with this car. Its like a child sometimes lol.

I can't complain with the bose stereo, since i just turned in a 96 accord coupe. I was going to throw my old subs in the trunk..but...well.. you guys know how small our trunks are. Plus, i hear about this car having rattles as it is, i don't really need anymore

nothing beats the sound of an MB Quart system, by far the best.

GSPOTTER, Did you install the Clarion DRZ9255 headunit yet? I am very eager to hear your review of it along with any install pictures you might have. I am ready to pull the trigger in purchasing that headunit so any input you have would be great! Let me know when you get the chance.

Cheers!

Harmon Kardon is the bomb. Nothing I have heard comes close.... McIntosh is pretty good, too.

I changed the front and rear seat speakers to MB Quart speakers (the fronts are componets). It realy claened up the sound of the factory Bose head unit. I was told by the dealer that the Bose portion of the sound system is only the rear subs and amp in the trunk.

if you just change out the front tweeters, it'll sound a lot better.
