the bose sound system s*cks, even worse than my 04 accord's factory system. the sound is not as rich as i hope for and when i turn up the bass or volume i can hear distortion out of speakers.

And you don't know what distortion sounds like, until you crank up the volume on the factory "premium" sound system in my Pontiac

It's all relative to what you're use to....
huh, I thought the factory Bose stereo sounded pretty darn good. oh well...
I don't turn it up that high though...just BGM while waiting for the light.
The exhaust and motor is my music during my drives.

Bose systems are designed to amplify bass and treble frequencies without any mid-range...hence the muddy or hollow sound. The bass is too boomy (I have my bass at 0 and it can be too much sometimes) and the treble is not very clear either.
So sad, I wish I could change it (cheaply).

Biscotti: You can always get the jdm double din option. I must agrees Bose is pretty bad in most vehicles, although I was in a friends 03 MB S55 AMG and that system sounded pretty good for a Bose (I believe it was a Bose). Most of the Bose home audio stuff is really bad for the money you're paying, but there is an exception, the old school 901s, good speakers.
