I have to buy new tires next summer so I'm just planning on upgrading to 20's and buying some nice wheels with them. But I'm debating on powder coating my current stock 18's black that are gonna run with my winter tires. Chicago gets real dirty from the salt and sleet during the winter, so I don't know how much damage that can do to powder coated wheels. I dunno I really like the gloss black look for my OB coupe, but at the same time I know I'm gonna buy wheels next spring so I'm not sure if its worth it or not.

it cost me 400 for my 19in rays and its one of the best investments I have made in my car. Also, the dirt really does not get to them if you put off cleaning them.

Are you keeping your current wheels for a winter set-up?
If not then I wouldn't waste the money getting them PC'd. If you are keeping them then go for it. Poweder coating is more durable than painting so they should be fine.

There's very little winter could do to damage powder coated wheels! If you're keeping them to run during the winter months....go for it.

The reason for no dirt is black kind of hides it

Try 'Plasidipping' them. I just recently upgraded my stock 18's and had them just laying around...I plastidipped them and it only cost like $30...I can redo them whenever I want. All it takes is a little time and $5 can of Plastidip

If Gary says do it then I definitely will! lol. Thanks for the suggestions guys, and yes I'm gonna keep those as my winter wheels because I don't want the wheels I'm buying next summer to ever see snow and salt.

And I just Googled Plasti Dip..ya ummm, no.

Lol @ all the plastidip hate.

Spending more than $100 on oem 18s is pointless. Plastidip cleared will do exactly what he wants at a fraction of the price.

Its not about getting the same results in terms of looks. Whats more important is long term durability.

Great Ryda, powder coated wheels are almost indestructible. What kinda would suggest plastic dip wheels, that doesn't even work well on grilles!

I forgot to ask something, do I have to take the TPMS sensors off before dropping my wheels off or can they remain on the wheel while the whole procedure is done?
