Just make sure the one you buy is a RACING JACK that has a 3.5" profile or less and make sure it can hold at least 3000#. The racing jacks are for lowered cars and sports cars like corvette, porsche, ferrari, G35's....

here's a jack stand adapter I made out of wood for my GriotsGarage jack
stand. Use this idea at your own risk.

Here's what the manual suggests. Special thanks to CantonG35 at
Frenzy:

Always use chocks on the tires before raising the car. E-brake don't
do you crap if you raise the rear. Be very careful and have fun.

EDIT: for precaution, use this adapter in pairs with chocks on the
tires that are on the ground. Otherwise make the adapter so that
it is secure.

i'm looking at getting the same jack stands from griots, how did you attach your adapter? does it just sit there or did you glue it?

The jack stand is from Griot's Garage.
i'm wondering how you keep the adapter from slipping off the stand? is it glued or attached to the stand somehow, or does it just sit there?

thanks

Im glad you asked.

The adapter is not glued and sits there snug. If you plan on raising the
car using all 4 jack stands, you should get the factory adapter or make it so that
the wood does not slide forward/aft. (not that it does on mine, but
as a precaution, you should).

Since I only jack up either front or rear at a time using chocks on the tires
on the groud, I do not have problems of the car sliding forward/aft off
the jackstand adapters.
