Does this need to be done? Alignment shop says it's an extra 20 if it does. i've not read anything on it, but i'm getting ready to do some searching, but i have to leave in 10 mins for my appointment.

No only if the steering shaft has been removed and not put back exactly as taken out...ask me how i know this.

dude at tire barn was tellin me that it would be 20 bucks to do it. i ended up going to a different local alignment shop.
