Exhaust raspy and hate it :(

Ok well first off I have the clone HKS exhaust. I also have I guess you can say straight pipes that I had welded on to delete my cats and have headers. I have a bad raspy sound coming from one side of the exhaust im not sure what you guys would call it but to help you guys know how it sounds just imagine how Skunk2 exhausts sound lol. Its wierd because one side of the exhaust sounds deep and the other one sounds like its beefed up lol. The rasp usually sound around 2K to 3K rpms and sometimes gets irritating. I was wondering if I could maybe add some resonator material in the exhaust to muffle the sound or if I can get some advice on what to change out besides my clone exhaust cause i kno im gonna get flamed on about that lol. Thanks in Advance

All you need is the Maganflow resonated x-pipe.

Search my post about it. It will help cut down on the noise and rasp.

lol I have the same exhaust with Berks hfc and my car is raspy as F***! I know it takes a few hundred miles to "break in" the exhaust and the hfc though. I'm going to do the magnaflow x pipe if it sounds the same in about a week or so. I heard clips of people that had test pipes with the hks replica and magnaflow x pipe and it sounded 1000x better. That would be your best bet.

Straight pipes are whats causing your rasp. Get HFCs or resonated test pipes.

The x-pipe sure "tones" the sound, but it also dramatically decreases in cabin drone. You can get the resonated x-pipe for under $100 shipped. Many X02 and some HKS owners have done this mod.

Here's what mine sounds like under WOT (better than simply revving from a standstill like most videos). I'm in the white coupe.

I have HFC and rasp is still terrible. Resonated x pipe is the only solution that I have found.

No.. dont get the X-Pipe, HFC, or resonated test pipes.

I have a X-pipe that goes along with my ARK exhaust w/ resonated test pipes..

STILL RASP ALOT and i hate it... everytime i accelerate from 2k-3k rpm it sounds like my exhaust is leaking and too much hissing.

too much exhaust flow will give you rasp... so your better off with the OEM cats with restriction to eliminate rasp.. like it or not

Ok I have another question. Which x-pipe are you guys talking about the muffler x-pipe or the true x-pipe cause I know that theres two types. Can some one get a model num for the specific x-pipe you guys are using. And also my HKS clone exhaust should be 2.25 in right? Could some one maybe also include a pic of how it looks on the exhaust with the x pipe installed because im not sure where i would install it. Thanks

This is the X-pipe:

Your HKS clone is 2.5 inch. The real HKS is 2.25 inch.

That's....^....the correct answer to your rasp issues! It's not your replica exhaust or your headers but those straight pipes causing the noise you love so well.
To all of you that continue to call Magnflows X-Pipe "Resonated" it's not! It's exactly what is says it is, a X-Pipe that joins the exhaust pulses from both sides which replaces the dated T or crossover. FYI

Ok so it's not resonated. It still works for a lot of people.
