Nissan essentially designed a new motor from the ground up. IIRC, over 80% of the motor is brand new and noninterchangeable with the DE motor. In a nutshell, the HR was Nissan's testing grounds for the 3.7 VHR motor and it is speculated for the 3.8 GTR motor as well. The only year the 350z had this motor was in 2007 and 2008, all trim levels. The G35 sedan had it for 07/08 too.

Looking at the big picture, it's a large sum of money for somewhat minimal gains. But looking at it from a G35 driver's perspective, its a huge upgrade. Take care!

According to Rich at uprev, it(the vk 56 swap) can be done for around 9k, that's getting a used 60k motor + tranny, and 6500 to go to fitment, mounts etc. That's just a stock vk motor, but he claimed the components would talk and you'd have a working dash unlike the ls swaps BUT I have yet to see it done, so we'll see Nobody in our local club was willing to bite and be the first lol.

Someone has done it. There's a video floating around here somewhere of a coupe with the VK56 in it.

Now that would be bad *** to have a V8 G35 coupe.

I have always heard the Titans ran freaking great, just never got to drive one before. What kinda additional mods could be done to a Titan 5.6?
