I have read some threads here and got some giggles. They aint doing you a favor selling the car at MSRP or 2% above Invoice ... They are still making hidden money .... The rest of the world has to know this. We are putting food on the table for them & money in the pocket as well. Tell the salesmen to eat a burger instead of steak every night.
I was in there looking to get a 04 2 months ago ... I told him another dealer gave me that price on a loaded 04 out the door. He said he could do the same thing, and even do it on a 05. He said get the 05 it's the same money. As for going into the "back" more BS! The sales team knows just what they can sell the car for. They know how much money they could make on each sale. I know a manager from another dealer... and was givin the scoop years ago. The "back" (and I have seen it done) is to show you they are pushing for you, there on your side, and willing to do the best the "back" will let them. And the best they can do is what the "back" says is ok. There is a lot more about buying a car then... VPP, MSRP, Invoice, & Holdback. These are the things the dealer knows you know... or hopes you may not. But look into, Carry-Over Allowances, Dealer Incentives, Packs, Special Manufacturer's Financing and Rebates, just to name a few. Not all will work with Infiniti but the more you know the better you will do.
Funny Story: They told me it would of been better if I walked in with a loaded gun .. and stole the car at gun point. lol
Once bought a 1991 RS Conv't Camaro in late 1990 for 16,400 with/ stick, 17" wheels, leather, conv't, Prem. sound, body kit. .. And more ... The MSRP after all the extras was around 25,000 ... closed the deal for 8,600 below MSRP. And remember... back then this car was HOT! And out bought before the New Year rolled in.
TRUST ME guys... they will hold out and wait for another person less informed to make a sale and more money. Walk in know the deal ... know what you want without skipping a beat and lay the price you want to pay on him. Let him know you know all about the hidden money they make on each car. Get deals on paper from other dealers and ask them to beat it ... Go to 5 dealers if possible. Put $50.00 down for each paper drawn. Then go back and get your money back .. Tell them you got it for blah blah blah less!

Ignorance MrElussive ..
If you aint got what it takes .. Don’t put others into your boat as well. When I go and close my deal and have the car in front of my house, I'll scan & post the bill of sale here 4 you. I will be waiting till Feb. to buy.
And you keep living your sorry life thinking you owe everyone a steak dinner. To disagree is one thing .. To come across an an *** is another. I have tested the water 4 times with 2 dealers already MRElussive …And could have done this deal already.
I will not buy a car I can’t see inside the showroom …. Now you go fall back in line with the world and conform. I don’t need to hear your mouth again

Whoa G35Vision, what are you so angry about? MRElussive has a right to make his point and disagree with you and dealerships have a right to generate profit. It's not much wonder why the rest of us have such a hard time making deals on cars when some people are out there "testing the waters" all over the place when they're not currently serious about buying a car.
Much of what you say is possible with some dealers/ manufacturers on certain vehicles at certain times. An experienced sales person knows roughly the best deal on a particular car at but the manager will always sign off and be involved in a deal especially when it falls outside of what their normal margin guidelines are. As a consumer you're smart to be informed and this will get you a better deal in most cases. Negotiating skills are part of the equation but so is supply and demand, market competition for that model and what a given manufactuer is offering at that time,time of the month/year etc. It's a bit of a stretch to have you suggest you walk in, tell them what you're going to pay at several different dealers (way below invoice) and just leave with the car paying 6-10k below invoice which generally isn't too realistic. Certainly not likely with an '05 Infinti G35.
I believe this because I have worked in the auto dealership business and have negotiated numerous new vehicle purchases over the years. I did buy my winter ride- a new 00 Grand Cherokee limited for $4000 below invoice but that was about 3 months before the '01 were to arrive and Chrylser had a $2500 incentive out as well. So if the moon and the stars align you may get your G at 6-10k below invoice.
We'll be interested in hearing the results of all your negotiating bravado this coming spring.

Forgive me if others think I’m trashing everyone here. This post started out friendly. I don’t take MRElussive’s post friendly. When somebody tells me all of what I say is “BS” & that “I’m full of crap” … I have a problem with that! Others asked me how was I getting this deal & I explained just as they asked me to.
Also please don’t take my words out of context… I said I have done deals on car’s in the past anywhere from 6 to 10,000 below MSRP … I did not say I was getting a G35 for 10,000 below invoice.
MRElussive’s has his opinion yes. I said he has a right to disagree, but don’t tell me what I write is BS or that I’m full of crap. I said that in my last post.
My post was not to get harsh with anyone. I’m no better then anyone if I get a car at a better price. All I was saying is there are many ways to bargain for a car …. And said, make sure you know all the hidden money the dealer will make from each sale.
It’s not just the salesmen who make commission, don’t forget the Dealership needs to make profit as well. The more you know the better the chances of scoring a better deal.
And I’m not jerking anyone around in the dealer I am ready to buy now …. I hade no idea the 6MT was not out when I went into the dealer. And again... I’m not buying a car I can’t see or test drive for a half hour.
So for the guys who think I was a bit harsh I’m sorry. But MRElussive can kiss it!

Hey G35Vision, I'm looking to get a new 05 6MT. Any pointers you can share? I just got an email from Atlantic Infiniti tonight about some special deal. It states:
===================================
My store sales are close to a level necessary to qualify the store for a special designation that Infiniti gives to their top dealers. Qualifying would designate Atlantic Infiniti as one of the top performing Infiniti dealerships in the nation.
My general manager wants this recognition; however, the only way to achieve it is to sell enough vehicles to earn it. Fair pricing sells cars and low pricing sells even more cars. So, if prices are going to be cut, I would rather do it for those people who took the time to contact me via the Internet.
To ensure that we reach the necessary sales figures needed to qualify, I am giving you, an Internet customer, an unprecedented opportunity exclusively at Atlantic Infiniti. My GM has authorized me to sell any new vehicle in stock for the price we normally reserve for Company Employees!! This means that you can buy any new Infiniti and receive this discount. Prices are well below prevailing market prices. This sale will not be advertised to the general public. You can save thousands!
Furthermore, here is the greatest news of all!! On top of our low pricing and financing incentives, you may be eligible for Bonus Cash Rebates and Model specific rebates. All offers and rebates CAN BE combined! The bottom line is there has never been a better time in the history of our dealership to buy a new vehicle!
==============================
Is this just some lame crap to drag you in to buy? I feel it's not really legit. As does everyone else, I want to get the best price for this as possible. Especially since I'm probably not going to get the premium package. All I'll probably add is the sunroof and the aero kit w/o the spoiler. What do you guys think the lowest possible price could go for this? My main advantage here is that I'm not in a rush to buy the car, so I have no problem walking out a few times to get what I want.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

G35Vision- No problem at all. Good luck negotiating a great deal. More importantly, have fun with your new G when you get it. They're great cars that grab a lot of eyeballs on the road.

Hey Crucial, .. Well I was in there 2 times .. both guys told me they were able to sell the cars at better prices cause they move more cars then any other dealer in? I don't recall if they said the east, north east, or all the the US.
They did tell me they had more play with the $$$ then just about any dealer out there because of this. Weather that is true will only show on your bill of sale.
Maybe you and I can team together as a cousin act
and work a sweeter deal for 2 cars sold in 1 sitting .... I'm in Franklin Square & I would love to buy now .. but I'm going to wait untill Feb. I think. Let me know if you would like to move this to the phone and talk about it. If you are waiting for the winter to pass ... I'm sure I could wait as well since I know the car sucks in the snow ...
