mount my plate on side?
mount my plate on side?
Just got a ticket for having my license plate in my windshield. I am going to be mounting my bracket tomorrow and installing it on the bumper using double sided tape. Has anyone used this method before? Any tips? I'm not drilling holes. Also should I do it in the center or to the side? I don't have a stock mount I will be buying from auto zone. Thanks for your help
Do you have the tow hook cover hole? If so Stillen offers a bracket that utilizes that hole that requires now drilling or sticky tape that eventually may fall off.
If someone can chime in and link this Stillen plate or other similar items feel free. I know I've seen it talked about on the forum a bunch of times before.

you can find imitators for less i think but thats the one in question ... i use zip ties... no paint damage, secure, and easy.

I used 3M double sided tape, "industrial strength", for my clutch mod... Lasted about 2 months and literally disintegrated, now I just JB welded the mod. Not saying use JB weld for a plate lol. But I've not been too impressed with 3M's tape as far as durability.
I tried the 3M Double Sided Adhesive on one of my cars, I even had a license plate frame so it would look like it was mounted correctly. The Sheriff asked how it was mounted and I told him, his response was...."Go home and mount it right!" So be prepared for a cop that thinks like we do....
