I also have gotten pulled over and I get crap all the time on Base... Same TX law applies, Front license plate must be mounted to car... Well I finally started looking around and found this solution. It's a little bit less expensive as the Stillen kit.. I might order it this coming week.. Im procrastinating like crazy.. LOL

Plate looks a bit too "ricer" when it's off to the side like that.

Wish I would've tried something like that with mine. Got my car from PA (no front plate) and almost cried drilling holes to bolt up the factory bracket.

I made my own like that here:

Basically a mount from O'Reilley, 2 screws on the inside of the bumper, and license plate in. I put rubber backs behind the plate (like the ones you put so your cabinets don't slam shut) so it won't scratch the paint.

Lasted a 650 mile trip out to AZ and it seems to be doing fine.

mount the plate in the center of your bumper. you don't drive an Evo.

Doesn't require any drilling to do so and looks better IMO.

Nothing like a bunch of zipties holding stuff on your car. Almost as bad as that kid who wanted to use tape to hold down his sweet veilside spoiler onto the trunk

Everyone bitching about zip ties are missing the point...

1) Zip ties cost like $5 for 100.
2) Zip ties can be removed with out any trouble or damage.
3) It sure looks better then the holes you've drilled into your bumper. (lowering the overall value by as much as 2k I might add depending on where you sell your car).
4) Your opinion is noted but unwanted... I think front license plates look bad in general on our car.

Anyone that bitches about the zip tie method is just pissed because they have holes in there bumper and we don't. Nebraska is a 2 plate state as well, however I only run the rear plate and have only been stopped once. It's a fix it ticket at worst, meaning no fine, and I simply have to show that the plate is attached to get it waived. I just carry my front plate and some zip ties in the trunk with the spare. I also live near a state patrol office so I pass by a minimum of 4-5 different local police and state patrol police daily. None of them have had a problem with either the zip tied plate or the plate-less front.
