i'm a noob here so i'm new to this but might be able to help

how long has it been supercharged for? if a while, that's a twin screw supercharger right? a friend of mine with a totally different car had a similar sound and it was the supercharger coupler.
just my $.02

Yes, it's a twin-screw roots system. Thanks for the suggestion, I'll keep working on her to see what the issue is - I have another car, so she's sitting in the garage for now...

Sounds like the fuel pressure regulator/solenoid. All VQ engines that I have heard make the same sound, and I have listened a lot.

The right supercharger. Just pulled 419 to the wheels with a vortech.

Yep. V3 with mrev, 1/2 spacer, hfc, and full dual exhaust. Used a walbro pump and DW 600cc injectors instea of vortechs fuel system, tuned on Osirus.

What are your torque numbers like?

You should have a lot more TQ than HP with a twin screw. At least 100 more IMO.

Good luck with your issue tho.

^ Is that going to be a big issue, or can I keep driving the car. I really don't notice any loss in power and (knock on wood x3), the car seems exactly the same as before I ever heard this noise...

^ Honestly, I can't recall. Sharif told me that for one the Stillen SC is a small SC and doesn't push the car very hard, thus the disappointing numbers, plus he said his dyno is referred to as the "heart breaker" - it's a mustang dyno, AND....even though the numbers completely blow, the car has completely 100% instant power - "lag" is not in this cars dictionary...and the power (like Sharif told me) the car makes on the dyno vs. how fast it is and how it feels (butt dyno) are two opposite ends of the spectrum and I agree - the car (butt dyno) feels freaking amazing and the sound is pure s#x!!!

Anyways - I'm still letting her sit and driving the 335i until I figure out what this is and if it's going to cause any major issues with the engine.

I did run across this and was going to try - anyone say: "heck no dude", or "try it, can't hurt"...

Thanks Guys!

Yeah mine makes the same noise just not as loud as the video. I always thought it was a belt. Very soft ticking noise coming from the engine.

It's actually not as loud in person, b/c your ear doesn't get as close to the source as me pushing my iPhone through the wheel itself and putting right up against the actual source - so when in the car you don't hear it at all - mostly b/c of the sound damping in the interior already + the whinning sound of the SC. When standing outside the car it's noticeable, but again not nearly as loud as the iPhone picked it up when almost touching the source itself.

I'm going to leave it alone for right now - as I truly feel NO performance degidation or any other noises coming from the car that are deemed abnormal.

I'll eventually take it to a trusted mechanic and ask him to check the fuel pressure regulator along with the timing chain tensioner. If either of those two items don't resolve the sound, I'll ignore it, b/c in 5+ years I plain on saving up and having the engine rebuilt with a Vortech SC or a Turbo setup.

Thanks Guys!
