got it..gonna follow this and just use gloss instead of flat for the black..https://g35driver.com/forums/2432727-post481.html

gonne use the gray duplicolor primer but i may still use the krylon paint and clear as i think it might hold up better..any thoughts on this?

Just went gloss black on mine keeping the fugi emblem chrome. Looks great, I always get compliments on it. I used the krylon from walmart after an 800 grit sanding and then no clear coat. I don't know that I've ever gotten clear coat to come out great, but use several coats of the paint and it wont' chip easily and shines nicely I'm rockin' the DG too, what a nice color on the G.

Is the krylon the "glossiest" paint you can get? Im gonna re do mine soon after chips and want it to be as glossy/shiny as possible. I used duplicolor gloss black last time and still wasn't that impressed with the glossyness. Anyone know the best gloss black for this?

That's the only pic I have right now of the black grill and emblem. But I do still have the gloss black emblem and an OE chrome grille I'm not currently using. Maybe I'll put the black emblem in and take a shot for you tomorrow.

I just used a rattle can man...and im very impressed with the outcome....thought it was gonna look like *** but looks very good. And it only cost me $6.29. You cant tell the difference. No Bumps and no missing spots. I took my time and did it right and I have no regrets so far.

I think that the whole grill should be "murdered out" in my opinion...Looks a lil tacky with the chrome emblem on there...Even tho I have the Nissan emblem on mine ;-)

Scuff (light sanding to promote adhesion), sand to smooth if needed, wash, dry, prime, sand to smooth if needed, several light coats until solid letting fully dry in between each coat, sand to smooth if needed, last coat paint, clear coat if desired (I didn't).

Current: Gloss black grille, OE chrome Mt. Fugi.

Hey when you painted your grill did you sand the finish product a little?
