OEM Grille looking janky, recoating options?

My grille is looking pretty beat up after 95k. I am getting my bumper repainted and want to to get my grille refreshed.

Options:
  • New OEM Grille: $150
  • Paint Current Grille. Either black chrome or black paint.
  • Have current grille refinished. Not sure where that could be done.
  • Vinyl wrap?

Any input? I have a car with no visual mods, and kinda want it that way. I would get a JDM style grille but the ATF cooler I added won't allow that due to clearance (it's mounted on the bumper bar, about a 1/2" from the OEM grille backside). If I paint my current grille another color, I'm worried it'll look out of place with stock everything else.

Let me know what you guys think would be best.

Just paint it black like many of us have done. Flat or satin is up to you.

OR paint it body color, I did that on my DG coupe and it looks amazing. Very subtle change..but worth it.

I've seen that paint matching setup before; It's kind of ugly in my opinion. I wouldn't do that.

I gotta agree........I can't even imagine a LR grille...fugly! And the answer is if you like the black grille look, paint it! If you don't buy a new grille or see if someone has one for sale on our MARKETPLACE. With new paint I would spend the $120 and get a new grille!

Pick a color of the grille you want and do it yourself.

Sand it down till smooth, prime, paint, clearcoat, DONE. simple as that

The headlight match is flawless. The grill isnt, but it looks great in person. I didnt clear the grill and it has a "flatish"(for lack of a better word) finish. The mettalic still shows through quite nicely. In the future I may repaint and clear it...Maybe

please dont "just paint it flat black". Either color match to your car, have it dipped, or im pretty sure that used grilles come and go pretty often on here.
