Quick tire help

My current setup is 225/45/18 in the front and 245/45/18 in the rear. Everything on stock 18's

I need to replace my front driver tire so i think i have a couple of options from the research i did and just need help finalizing.

1. Find 2 245/45/18 for the front too and have the same size all around?

2. Move the 245/45/18 to the front and put a wider tire in the back? and even after reading threads i don't really understand what size wider and what is the real advantage/disadvantage to going wide.

3. Leave 245/45/18 in the back and get 2 245/40/18 in the fronts?

oh and i am using used tires for now till i can afford new tires over the summer

thanks for your help

and if anyone has alternate suggestions i would be grateful

Option 1 is best.

2 is ok, but you can't really fit anything wider on that 8" wide wheel out back... so no.

3, no that will put you the same as you are with a smaller tire up front.

Ideally, you should have a 225/45 up front and 245/40 in the back.

But 245/40 all around would be my choice.

You can easily run the 245/45X18 back and front without issues. It also makes for a more stable/controlled ride at highway speed.
