trunk release

trunk release

has anyone ran into this problem where the trunk release from inside the car does not work as well from the key fob and the rear seats will not fold down as well.. possible fuse change? need my stuff from my trunk.. anyone with any information on this would be appreciated

i'VE READ A THREAD where they said there is a red strap right bhind the middle console on the rear seat. then the seat will fold down.

Yeah there is a red strap in the middle of back seats, in the bottom seam. On top of the little center console thing on the back seats.

You might have to dig for it, but once you find it give it a pull and ittl release.

same problem when i got my G the trunk wouldnt open from inside. if you look in the lower glove compartment theres a trunk on/off switch on the left side. switch it to on and that should solve your problem.

i had to replace my trunk release switch because it had fried.

hey guys i was talking to my tech guy at the dealer ship and as soon as i told him what the problem was he told me it was the wire harness... not the lock or fuse.. from opening and closing the trunk over the years it crimped the wires that are protected by the rubber boot.. So he took me in and didnt charge me so i threw him a quick 50 for doing me that favor.. so anyone that runs into this problem, check the wire harness first before ordering any parts..

This is a very common problem on a lot of the older coupes as well as sedans.

hahahah where the hell was this thread when i had my 04. I NEVER figured out how to fold down my seats but now that I have an 06 its smooth sailing
