Window motors the same?
Window motors the same?
My driver windows is messed up. I cleaned it twice and it works for about 2 weeks and malfunctions again. I do not want to buy a new motor. I'm wondering if i can juts take the passenger motor and swap it with the drivers side. I'm usually in the car alone and can care less if the passenger can roll their windows up or down.
You're gonna have to get a new motor. Be sure to buy one from O'reilly's or another store that offers a lifetime warranty on them. I got a replacement window motor that crapped out after 3 weeks, and got the second one for free and it has lasted 4 months with no problems so far
That is an awful lot of work just to avoid not buying a new motor even if it did work. You have already disassembled it twice for cleaning and you basically wanted to do it twice more to avoid buying a new motor and in the end you would have only had a working drivers side window.
Anyway if you order one from advanceautoparts.com and use a promo code VISA you will get $50 off. After returning the core charge you would get another $25 back and you would only pay about $107 for a replacement with a lifetime warranty. now I know that isn't cheap but consider your time and what all working windows is worth. If you can't afford it, well times are tough maybe try a salvage yard.
