If I was at work I could help you as I've dealt with 2 plexiglass manufacturers in the past (although I don't remember if either was in FL). Try searching google for "aircraft plexiglass" or "plexiglass cockpit" and see what pops up. I got a sheet of 1/2 inch, 4' x 10' for about $100-ish if I remember correctly...

Also, you have mail in 5 minutes...

Well you can buy it from this place... USPlastic but it isn't cheap.

Also, search under polycarbonate... Many aircraft manufacturers and large aquarium manufacturers use plexiglass this thick. Also, apparently it's used for making speaker enclosurers... Good Luck!

I know I'm not in your area, but look up every glass/glass cutting companies. I work w/ alot of plexi w/ my models and your mom&pop glass companies a lot of the time can get you cheap plexi.

My suggestion is get out the phone book.

Very expensive!

Why do you need 'glass so thick?

When you use glass that small (1'x1') you can get away with using thinner glass.

I built this box a few years back: http://www.angelfire.com/oh2/pierson...mages/box1.jpg

It had (5) 12" speakers in a diamond config. The back sub was mounted in 3/16" glass! The 'glass never broke. Keep in mind this was a ported box so there would be less pressure on the inside of the box. Had it been a sealed box I would have went with 1/2".
