They should pass the sniffer, but you will most likely fail the visual. You could just throw the stock cats back on when it comes time to smog.

ive never done a sniffer test since i live in florida but your tune is what would really ditermin if you pass or not. i know my car black smokes like crazy which would probably mean it would not pass the sniffer lol. but then again i have a filter intake plenum berk hfc's and resignator removed on an hks exhaust.

it didn't always black smoke lol so your probably good i'm just running 12.0 afr's

ok so i live in socal also, and i tried to pass with my stillen HFC. there was no way, the readings came out way above what it should be. at the time i had all the bolt ons and a tune. i had set osiris to the stock tune but no dice. so i had to put my stock cats back on and retest. it is not to hard to put ur cats on. so i would recommend just getting test pipes and putting ur cats back on if u got to test it.

Good to know. I will go for the Berks too and I was worried about the Smog Test. Now I know for sure they will not pass.

Now do you need to tune the car back to stock? Or just putback the Cats?

NV and AZ simply plug in to the OBDII. No codes=pass. No sniffer, nothing else.

I have Kinetix. Their site "claims" no check engine lights, but no guarantee that it passes smog in all 50 states.

if you get the uprev tune you can change between tune settings. like performance, stock, anti-theft, fuel saver, etc. but to pass smog all u need to do is put ur cats back on.

Your SES light might come on after installing the high flow cats (which was my case). Go for the anti-fouler fix if it does.

or reset the trouble code and let the ECU relearn the car's conditions over again. I popped the light for exhaust flow something or other 2 days after installing the Kinetix. I reset the light and cleared the memory. Never came back. Both O2's are installed without the nonfouler adapters. It's been more than 2 months since installation now. My gas mileage actually improved, which I thought was odd. I was averaging 15 mpg combined driving. Now I'm approaching 18 mpg with no change in my driving habits.

If you're smart enough to go with BERK'S HFCs you won't need anti-foulers, they come with them. With all my mods I did need to get my Osiris tune due to a lean condition but it was worth the $ because it netted my another 24 RWHP and 18 LBS Torque. Going to get smogged next week, they never even look at what's under my hood...hope nothing has changed. I'll let you know...

Update...=o(

Took SLICK to get smogged this morning, failed! The techs were talking out their azzes about it being my HKS exhaust even after I told them I had HFCs. My tuner is off until Jan 1st, I'll talk to him and find out what I need to do. He may be able to lean her out enough to pass or I may need to install my OE cats to pass. I'll let him decide, at this point I'm only guessing...
