do you have pics of them on your car? also will the orange brembo callipers stay on the car or will they have to be changed? thanks

assuming he's getting 4 brand new calipers, you can get 4 brand new akebono calipers + rotors + pads + new lines for $1800

My quote to you was for a G35 with Brembo brakes. That's what I have on my car, and I bought my project Mu racing B-force pads for $180 shipped, which includes a set of both front and rear pads.

Hahahahahahaha! The same brakes as a Porsche Carrera GT? Wow.. this guy is really taking you for a sucker. He's not even close to accurate, and his claim is downright insulting to your intelligence. Porsche Carrera GT brakes are Silicon Carbide Ceramic, and are insanely high end. You won't find OEM brakes like that on any car that costs less than $75K when new.

Even though your price quote is probably in Canadian currency, it doesn't really matter.... the US and Canadian dollars are almost 1 for 1 nowadays. You should definitely never go back to that dealership, they are completely trying to screw you.

What dealership?

Mechanic or service manager?

Submit a complaint to the BBB and your local news stations as well as the franchise corporate office.

This wont stop unless they get in trouble for it.

if the op is from canada then it's actually not that insane of a quote. That's how much Canadian stealerships regularly charge.

Even though our currency is at the same rate we still pay way more for things than you US guys....hence why us Canadians always buy from your US vendors

Wow that is crazy.. You could get a front bbk for that.. You can look through our vendors online and purchase the parts shipped to your door for 1/10 of the dealer quote. Then take it to a reputable mechanic or DIY!

Good thing I posted here. I feel like a chump for listening to the service guy and letting him fool me like that. Well, lesson learned I guess.

This is what it says

"REC NEED TO REPLACE ALL BREMBO BRAKE PADS, BRAKE ROTORS, BRAKE SHIMS AND BRAKE FLUIT EST $3600"

seems like I dont know how to take a picture on my laptop webcam without getting a mirror image of it, but what I wrote above is what it says in the red circle.

Also, I should probably make another thread for this but I got a quote of $550 (on same page) for an "EXCHANGE UNIT" because my CD player does not work. (Cassette and radio are fine). Not sure if this is reasonable or not but it looked ok to me as I thought the OEM would run be close to $1000.

Here is the picture as promised:

yea they're just trying to rip you off

all you need is new rotors and pads and possibly a brake flush if you havent done one in a while.....this is assuming you actually need these things and they're not doping you into replacing your already good brakes

if ya rotors are not messed up (cracked or groves) then u don't need new rotors.. U might need pads.. and just flush the brake system..

I got a whole new brake system (stoptech rotors (slotted/drilled), poisquite pads, stainless steel brake lines, and brake fluid) for 550.

G35
Honestly speaking the dealer language. The price is not that bad. Keeping in mind when saying this "Dealer" + "Brembo". Look online how much are a set of BREMBO rotors and pads? Again not aftermarket that fits Brembo.

Would i replace them for that much? Hell no
What would i do? Buy after market ones that fit the Brembos like mentioned above

SWEET BABY JEBUS! You could probably take a class at a community college and learn to install them yourself, order the parts, install the brakes and still save money!!!!
