$3600 for new brakes

from the dealership, they said my brakes, rotors are shot and need to be replaced ASAP

quoted me $3600 including some thing that you put in the brakes to reduce screeching noise

my question is, what are my alternatives? i dont want to pay $3600. Asked the guy if I could get non-brembo brakes and he said the specifications are different and only Brembo brakes can be installed on the car. (Can someone confirm this?)

these are for a 2004 coupe, Brembo brakes

that dealership is trying to rip you off.

New brakes and rotors from R1 Concepts for your Brembos shouldn't cost you more than $350

LOL.... $3600, that's hilarious.

Buy the pads and rotors yourself and bring them to a local mechanic. You'll spend probably $650-800 on parts and maybe $120 on installation. Brakes on our cars are retarded easy to do.

You may not even need new rotors either. Dealerships always just replace them because they make bank on selling/raping you new parts at a super-premium price.

Are these Brembo brakes or will these be the regular ones?

The guy was telling me how these brakes are used on Porsche Carrera GTs and are really high performance.. thats why their so expensive.

Edit: Also I am located in Canada (Vancouver), so I may not be able to get US prices which Im assuming are cheaper.

Porsche Carrera GT rotors???? that technician is smoking some serious crack

1) G35s do not use the same brakes as the Carrera GT
2) Carrera GT brakes are much much much more expensive than $3600

They are after market but are really good rotors, many members here, include myself, have been running those rotors

They are actually made from Centric blanks which are the same rotors as Stop tech and many other high end brake companies
