In today's market $4k gets you a 10 year old Civic or Corolla. Prices of used cars have gone completely unreasonable.

Swap it with another used DE, whether you go with a car-part or a JDM used is up to you, I've had good and bad luck with both.

The shop will normally give you a short warranty on the motor usually so it's not like you're assuming any risk by paying the shop to do the work. Just make sure they are doing a compression test and have the results printed on the paperwork.

208k on a 2004, daily driver at this point, just replace another set of rear strut and new 300tw tires installing this Friday

Guess, it will be a daily driver until it needs to be replaced

Standard G35 coupe 265k miles
My 03 has just shy of 265,000. Still original engine and it uses about a 1/2 a quart between 3k miles oil change.

Stock
03 g35

I have 177 k daily driver amsoil everything since I got it at 120k in 2019. OG engine. Run smooth as the day I got as a straight trade for a 2007 Toyota Yaris. Still friends with the guy I traded it with.

Current 77k miles
05 coupe, stock
Everything works, weekend driver sort of..

Retired now, always thinking of upgrade on stereo, amp, speakers etc...i like the stock look though..

And, big brake system, yellow? Or just paint calipers...cannot do any work myself..

Runs fantastic...

Old head checking in since 2012 Revup with 196k tuned and reliable. Pulled a car+ on a Nismo 350 HR with HFC NO TUNE and +/- half a car with a few unknown G37s so I guess its still running as it should. I see a few familiar user names still posting but man times have changed lol.
