injen intake/oem intake
just a Question .. Are the InJen Cold air Intake just as good as the Oem intake system or they bad... i hear it does nothin for our cars so basically what i understand from what i hear they are just for looks or does it actually do worse than the oem system im not talkin about the short one im talkin about the ones that goes down to the bottom of the bumper ....i want to get the most out of my air intake so if anyone can let me know the more info the bettter Thanks
i tried to post a pic of the injen intake but it wouldnt let me up load
this is the intake im talkin about

after you search around the forums some more you'll see that nothing is better than the stock air box on our cars for performance...all the intake will do is add a little sound, no better or maybe a little less in the performance dept. It's better to pick up a k&n drop in filter for your stock or pick up a rev-up airbox from a manual g35 05 and after
Ok I'm sorry I miss wrote that I was basically askin for yalls opinion about it. I did ask which is better So I guess now do y'all suggest going back to oem or stickin with the injen? When I bought my car it came on it so I guess I never heard a difference in it on sound wise ( its my first G) I guess I don't know no better.. But thanks for y'alls info

This is the intake I have. I've been running it since I got the car. I did have the stock intake back on at one point for a smog check (before i got my CARB sticker for the Injen - so now I won't have to switch back), and in my opinion the Injen had more bottom end and mid range. Stock one was a bit smoother though.

I honestly didn't notice any change in sound when I was switched back to the stock intake, but that's just me...
I should say that what I noticed was a loss in power with the stock intake (since I always had the Injen on the car) and the car went back to normal when I put the Injen back on...
Though, it could have simply been the fact that the ECU had not re-adapted to the stock intake and was causing a loss of power that way.
But anyway, this is why I stated it was MY OPINION. Never said it was fact. I've never had my car dyno'd. For all I know it could be costing me 300hp.

You're not going to feel a horsepower gain bro but the only thing is when you go back to the oem it's not going to sound as cool in the higher RPMs. With the intake you are probably gaining 3-7 hp so you won't be feeling it.
I gained peak 3 hp with a OEM ztube and k&n drop in this weekend. I did the install of the parts on a dyno and did the testing back to back.

You will not notice and performance difference from this mod. The Ztube is the only intake that will keep the performance roughly the same. The other ones lose power and have much higher probability of heat soak.
However, the sound is awesome.

No tune, just put the parts on and go. I took the negative battery terminal off for about 14 hours the night before, but drove 75 miles to Z1 Motorsports mostly highway.
We actually did pulls with the following configurations, installed the parts while on the dyno, roughly 50 degrees:
1. Stock
2. ztube
3. ztube + k&n drop in
4. ztube + k&n drop in, mrev2
5. ztube + k&n drop in, mrev2, md 5/16 spacer
6. ztube + k&n drop in, mrev2, z1 5/16 spacer
