Some #^^hole scratched my new G!!!!!

I feel as if a dagger was put threw my heart. Only 400 miles on the thing (2005) and I find some idiot forgot how to park. I'm so mad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What can I do? Will touch up paint work or only make it look worse? I have a DG Coupe. What will this run me at a body shop? Is this something Infiniti can do at the dealer body shop (if they have one)?

I had a camaro for 7 years and not a damn thing happened...three weeks into having my dream car and this happens.

This is so fustrating as everybody is closed (New Years Eve) and I can't help my baby out. Its just weeping in the garage.

Calm down buddy, just breathe...everything will be ok man...I know that this soon into owning a new car and something like this happeneing sucks, but it can be dealt with. If its not noticable (and not body deep), I'd leave it alone cause your the only one who will notice since you know about it. If it's noticeable but not major, then do some touch-up work but get the bottle of touch up from your DEALER and not Pep Boys or any after market stuff. If you choose to go after market touch-up, you must know the manufacturer paint code for your car, I think its located where the car door shuts (meets the body of the car)...not sure, you can also find it online. Most dealers are open untill 6pm today so you can try calling them to find out. And itll cost you an arm and a leg to get it re-done, especially if its very minor.

Just imagine this...in a year or more you wouldn't have given this a second thought....thats how life is...we are excited about our new stuff and pay close detail but in the long run...it wont really bother us. Wierd how that works huh?

Thanks. I called Infiniti and the guy told me it'll be about $450 bucks...and I would have to buy another emblem as he would have to take the old one off. Damn...$500 bucks because some inconsiderate person couldn't park.

Words of wisdom indeed Gee! When I first got my G, I took great pains to park it in those last empty rows, hundreds of yards away to avoid those thoughtless SUV dullards who think they sit on top of the world and who open those tall heavy doors with reckless abandon and with little consideration for anyones pride and joy. But as time has passed, I now pull into the closest spot I can find...even if its next to a Suburban....totally reliant on the thoughtful consideration of others.....It's just the way it is. The novelty and newness wears off and that long walk from the back of the lot just doesn't seem worth it anymore.

Here my next question. Will any paint shop be able to get the DG paint? Should I take it to Infiniti? I just want some shop to blend it with a non-metallic grey. I guess the question is, can all body shops get the exact paint in order to air brush it on?

Sorry if I seem over sensitive, but, damn...I just bought the damn thing for $40K three weeks ago!!!!

Jason,
No need to apologize....she's your baby. I'd do it right and go to the dealer....then I'd park in the last last rows of the parking lot, where there's now one parked on either side....at least for awhile LOL

Post pics man, I'd be able to tell ya what to do if I saw it...sometimes we over exagerate stuff when they happen, not saying that's what your doing, but are ya gonna pay $500 everytime something happens? I mean If I paid that much each time someone dinged my ride, I could have bought myself a Ferarri

Bumps and dings are inevitable bro. Try not to sweat the first one too much It's tough because it's so new, but it will pass and she'll be fixed good as new.

$500 is a hard knock, but it's half what it cost me due to some inconsiderate hit and run jackass. (on a previous ride, not the G)

Good luck with repairs, and enjoy the season.

if it makes you feel better, i was starting college and had just bought a '99 vw jetta wolfsburg when i took it to school and someone keyed the whole driver side from the back door to the headlights.

i was so mad, but after a while i didn't even start to notice. and now i'm selling the car to buy another. life goes on.

Jason,

The company that just finished my car did a WONDERFUL JOB! They'll do your entire bumper for ~$220 and it will be PERFECT!

If you can live w/o your car for a day or two, let me know. They did Pimpinpearl's body kit and have done most of the body work for the OZOC (Orlando Z Owners Club) members. They will even color match your bumper to your car if you want. This means they will make a CUSTOM color and you will think your bumper is made of aluminum, not eurothane. Give me a PM and I'll give you the number to call. BTW, the shop is about 5 minutes from the Orlando International Airport.

BASE ACURA TLX NOW WANT A G35 AGAIN THOUGH
I understand your frustration being new and all...I've had the car since April and here's what happened to my IP cpe since then. First thing rear bumper edge slight really un-noticeable scratch...touched it up can't notice it...Second, a very tiny rock chip on hood...Third most recent..a "BIG" rock chip...wish I had the clear bra...it's into the paint but from a distance it looks like dirt..so i'm not going to worry about it...It's fixable...4th thing...like a couple months ago at the gym this huge chevy caprice piece of sheit for some odd reason...parked really close next to me when there were 4 other empty spots on his left...The passenger was careful getting out...however as he got his stuff in the back...WHAM...I didn't notice anything but from an angle...there was a dent line...he's like...we're cool right...I go back to look for these guys in the gym he's like sorry...I don't think they can afford to fix it since they were selling that crap for $2,000.00. Anyways that I fixed for like $100.00 with dent pro...5th thing...I found a "DING" on my driver's side door near the edge...thank goodness for $25.00 dent day...it was fixed in 10 minutes...!!!

Moral of all this...just remember although the G is our pride and joy, just think to yourself...ya know in the long run...it's metal, plastic, leather, and alloy. Life is too short to be stressing at every little thing that happens to our ride...

Oh yah...I forgot...I curbed my rim on a high curb big ole scratch rr wheel....whooops whatcha gonna do..I still love this car...Let us know how the repair goes and post pics!

Man, at a minimum you need to be put in "time out" for G-Abuse. I think I'm off to call somebody about this serious neglect problem.
