Tire upgrade for 19 inch rays

Hi guys

I apologize if they has been asked a million times before. I have researched and found many different answers.

I own a 2007 g35 coupe. Its time to put some new rubber on it. What is the largest size tire that will fit on the 19 inch rays? I am still using the stock michelin potenzas and looking for something a little thicker. Is anything else required (spacer, etc)

Thanks

I was thinking 275/285. Is that overkill?

Im running 255 on the rear. They fit perfectly, but I wouldn't go any wider. They have a slight poke, but nothing crazy.

I run a 245/35/19 front and 255/40/19 rear.

After a lot of research on my end, that seemed to be the widest acceptable tire on the stock rims. Tire manufactures do not recommend mounting anything wider than a 255 on the stock 8.5" rear rim.

Incorrect.

275/35 is a common upsize per Kumho and Goodyear. As well as having no basis in reality... Forza 4 has it as an upsize for their G35 ingame.

If you do go 275, there IS slight bulging. Nothing ugly, but something to research and get used to.

I had to get used to the stretch of the 245 rubber I had on there, and hated it.

Edit: Quick pics from parking lot at work just now. Also, you don't need to roll fenders unless you add spacers too. We're so far tucked that 275's don't rub without.

+1 good advice. I think a 255 35 19 for the rear looks great. Just have to consider the % change in the rolling radius and adjust your speedometer accordingly.

I'm in the same place. I am looking at new tires and wondering the same thing. I run events with my car at NASA AZ and was told by a Z guy that works for Infiniti that he had 245/35 F
275/35 R
on his Z with 19" wheels. He said he had no issues. I'm not versed enough to know if the Z can accept wider tires or not.

I am currently looking for these sizes in Hankook V12's.

I think 245/40 fronts would look better with 275/35 rears.
