I think ThatOneDude may have the solution for my motive of finding a productive use for the ash tray. That is a great and useful idea. If you could supply us with some pictures and definitely a video explaining how it works and how to do it that would be great! Thanks for your input.

Well I use the armrest with the coin slots. But the ashtray I use to put my bluetooth earpiece in ( I don't have the bluetooth option) so that's useful. But does anyone find that whatever they put in there gets hot? My bluetooth is usually really warm/hot when I take it out makes me think about not keeping it there lol.

Well, there... USB stick in Cigarette lighter. I guess I should mention the '06 tray is different. Anyway, basically, I took the center console apart, attacked the lighter from the underside until I could get it out (preventing dings and dents recommended) . Minor problem was that I wasn't sure how to mount the plug in there. It's just a wire running from the back of my Kenwood headunit, so I shoved it in to see how well it sits. I decided to use the metal trim of the lighter slot to mount the input slot. All I did was stick it in the metal piece and then clamped it down with pliers. As I mentioned, it's just a ghetto self-made mock-up but gets the job done. Ash tray stays shut mostly, and there's no usb wire hanging down from the side of my passenger side area anymore.

One minor inconvenience might be that you may have trouble allowing the tray to open/close once you mount the input usb wire because, depending on the wire, it might rub against some plastic on the inside, under the shifter area. What i did was cut that plastic; It literally seemed useless.

Just shaped a piece of thick plastic, and painted it.

I use it for pennies, nickels, and dimes. Quarters go in the coin slot area.

I put my on/off switch for my turbos in there. And using it for money is just extra weight. Everyone knows that

So does this USB port strictly only charge USB devices or does it play music from the connected USB device to the car speakers?
