I don't smoke. Therefore my ash tray gets no action at all. But yet it is a space that can be useful to me. What do you use your ash tray besides dumping the remains of your cancer sticks? Has anybody transformed this space for some thing such as an iPod/phone dock? Anything along those lines?

 

Dont have a pix of it but you will get the idea. I use it for parking meters. That is where i put my quarter only

I used to use mine for coins, but I don't anymore. I actually had a quarter get lodged in the back of the thing(probably from hitting a bump in the car), and I couldn't get my ash tray to open more than like 1/4 of the way with it stuck in the back. I had to fabricate a makeshift hand tool out of a coat hanger by bending it in all sorts of strange angles to snake it in through the small 1/4-of-the-way-opened ashtray opening and into the back of the ash tray to dislodge the quarter so I could open the as tray all the way and get it out of there.

 

when i bought my car there was like 4 quarters and some change in there. so i took the tray apart and scored some extra cash. it was a happy day lol

 

I doubt anyone actually throws their cigarette butts in the ash tray. Everyone likes to throw them out the window like *******s.

 

I've seen some people install an AUX port or iPod dock where the ash tray is. Mine is useless as well.

 

i keep used condoms in there...which is why its empty........abstinence is the only way to go!!!!

 

coins.... although i think when it got full last time some went inside and now the ash tray thing won't slide all the way back in... :/

I tried building a dock for my phone into it but I didn't like the angle the phone I had at the time would have to be at. I got a new phone since but still don't like the way it has to sit in order to fit and close.

 

I smoke and I don't even use the ashtray lol. I try not to smoke in my car though unless all my windows can be rolled down. So, I basically use it for nothing. I put my coins in the center console where the coin slots are

 

I'm using it for coins right now. I'll just try not to put too many in there.

 

I keep my garage door remote in there.

 

Bass **** for the sound system is in there. very useful.
