Rev Limit Help please!

I have an 06 G35 coupe, and today I was in 2nd gear and accidentally revved my car up to 6500rpm (ish, around that) and was scared for my life for a second, then switched to 3rd and everything seemed to be fine as I finished my drive home, I even turned my car off and back on to see if anything sounded different but everything seemed ok. Is my car ok if this is the first time it has gotten this high? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

There is a rev limiter for a reason. The engine will not miraculously blow up if you hit redline a few times.

The only thing hurting is your gas mileage...
Your car a rev limiter which will keep it from revving high enough to cause damage. Now dont go driving around bouncing off the rev limiter all the time but to answer your question hitting 6500 is no big deal, I prob hit it a couple time a day having fun in my car

actually, I take that back, turns out your car is not fine if you it 6500 RPM....you're going to need to change your headlight reflector fluid

You have an 06 6mt, and ONLY hit 6500 rpm? You realize your redline is 7200 on that engine? Set your shift light to 6800 or so if you're worried about over reving.

6500 is laughable.

Nothing to be worried about.
