HID Reverse Lights?
HID Reverse Lights?
Saw these linked on another forum I'm on (for our truck), and these intrigued me...

HID setup for our reverse lights. I've always hated how our reverse lights are practically useless, and even worse if you have tinted windows (which I do).
My only concern is that since they draw all their power through your original wiring, would this cause a problem? They are stated to be 15w, so figure 80% efficiency means 18w at ~12v = 1.5amps.
Thoughts?

I honestly don't see the point. How long are you in reverse for? 15- 20 seconds? A OEM HID set up takes about 10 - 15 seconds to fully warm up. Aftermarket ones take around 45 - 60 seconds to warm up. Not only that, but they get pretty warm if you leave them on too long. It looks like they give you a conversion harness, and if these ballasts really run at 15w, you should be fine. But again.. is it even really worth it?
