HFC Vs Testpipes
HFC Vs Testpipes
I'm looking to buy HFC Or Resonated Test pipes , What are your opinions and the differences between the two and what else should i get to go with them ? At the moment i don't have the money for a full exhaust system only 1 or two pieces .
Im looking for some thing that sounds beast and not ricey and also not over 200 $ used .
Give me some brand names please!

do some research..there are threads to read exact questions like this..u need to take other things into consideration too like inspection and everything. figure out which have the cel fix and which dont and if u care about that and if u want to smell fumes from not having cats or if you dont care, what sound ur going for..etc.

My opinion, just get test pipes because you eventually will wish you had. ART pipes is where it's at. But, if you can't afford those keep an eye our for Fast Intentions resonated test pipes. I ran those before switching to ART pipes and they were great quality and provided a fantastic sound when paired with the stock exhaust. I have some videos if you wanted to get a feel for how it sounded. Typically they will pop up used for around $200. Berk are the only decent quality HFC. But people have been complaining recently of rasp. Good luck.
I searched before i posted thank you very much ! , I couldn't find a post .Thanks Shane and Football you two are helpful unlike some other people that just don't know what to say and want to raise their post count . I live in MD and we only need to get inspected once and that's when you buy or sell the car . I really don't care about smell whatever it takes to prepare for a single turbo setup im all for it . I know for a fact i dont want the rasp sound and i want some thing that will go good with my stock exhaust .
yea i hate rasp ugh, i was running the art pipes with the stock exhaust for about 2 months and i had some rasp at wot, but over all it kept that stock note, but it had more of a deeper purr to it, i kinda miss it lol

Actually BERK'S HFCs are "Trash!" I was a major fan until mine broke and failed, being 13 months old the manufacture said I was SOL! They have an internal rattle when cold which tells me they're quality sucks! And they failed smog, may as well had test pipes that's how far off they were from passing. Several members here have F1 HFCs you can either go with them or ART pipes and swap your OE cats back in when you need to renew your regestration....a few choices just not BERK'S!

speeking of that i need to switch my cats back for inspection. but first i have to get the o2 sensor out that is jammed and stuck in there! any thought on how to get that sucker out? gary?
id try to turn it out easy as you can and hope it can be re-threaded. i threw away stock cats because the o2 bungs got stripped and i couldnt re-thread them
yea its pretty much completly rounded off lol. i acctually cut the wire off and took the other half and rewired it to an o4 g35 o2 sensor bc the plug wouldent fit and it worked, noo cel lol i was suprized, i might just leave it in and rewire the part i cut off last time, then do it again when i go back to art pipes. hope it works.
i went to auto zone and bought the o2 sensor socket and that dident work, even let pb blaster sit on it for 30 min b4 even touching it. this thing dosent wanna come out. might as well give it a try though, have nothing to lose!
