Install a testpipe on one side and an HFC on the other side. It's the secret that no one will tell you...

Several members here have F1 HFCs you can either go with them or ART pipes and swap your OE cats back in when you need to renew your regestration....a few choices just not BERK'S!

This is good to know.

My original plan was to get some Berk HFC but there are so many stories creeping up lately on their durability. Since my car doesn't need to be smogged for another 2 years, I'm gonna do the same thing as you mentioned of swapping back the cats once the time comes.

Gary is right about Fast Intention HFCs. Can't believe I mentioned their test pipes and forgot their HFCs Haha. I'm biased What you could do to help ease it out is soak the sensor with PB blaster. Then as mentioned, get a O2 sensor socket, the one that has the rachet connection hanging off the side, and attach a breaker bar with a metal sleeve/pipe over it for added torque. If that proves tough, start the car and let the manifold heat up well. It might help ease it out. I would normally recommend a torch since the sensor is already trash, but there's too many wires and obstructions to be putting a flame up there! Also, I think someone said theirs was stripped? Vise grips all the way. Clamp them down super hard and use a pipe for the added torque! Personally, that's exactly what I would do. Best of luck!

Edit: this kind, but preferably a 6 point. That's what I have.

Go troll somewhere else. Typically we flame stupid, illiterate idiots who start threads. The OP doesn't fit any of that criteria. I have a suggestion for you, go SEARCH for troll worthy threads because I wouldn't consider this one.

Give me some brand names please!
I had the same dilemma as you and recently went with Berk HFC's paired to my Fuji with Y-Pipe. Because of the hiss they make I'm thinking now that I should have went with the ART pipes connected to a Motordyne XYZ pipe with HFC attachment to take care of the smell of not having cats. Currently doing some research on whether or not that would pass the sniffer in CA...haven't found an answer yet.

It won't. I think Gary has a little more knowledge since he's in that region.

It's not much of a dilemma Paul, odds are you won't pass smog with your Berk's HFCs but with our SMOG checks you'll have a second chance to pass switching back to your OE cats. I hear all the time about this hissing sound from other members with Berk's. With install done right and new OE gaskets you should only hear the sweet sound of your exhaust....
