I agree, jump on the '05 for invoice. Fixes to the couple little things we aren't crazy about on our '04.

Well I will post when it is over.

They have come back with a couple of things on the 05. It didn't come off the truck with the splash guards and trunk mat. The mat doesn't matter (Right?). But I do want the splash guards. I assume it is safe for the dealer to install these?

Anyway with the "small" changes I don't think they are really at invoice anymore as they have not changed the price. I also think I am finding a couple hundred dollars that I can't explain. So I may be $500 over invoice at this point. However I plan to do what I can to get all of it they said they were giving me.

Will keep you updated.

OK - Just got back from the local dealer driving a new 05 G35c.

They sold it to me for what basically turns out to be under invoice.

G35c - AT, Diamond Graphite on Graphite Leather, Premium Pkg, Performance Wheel+Tire, Rear Aero, Splash Guards, Trunk mat. 9mi, came off the truck today still had all the plastic on it.

From Edmunds:

2005 Infiniti G35
Rwd 2dr Coupe (3.5L 6cyl 5A)

MSRP Invoice
$32,400 $29,801

Optional Equipment
$4,170 $3,572
P01 Premium Package
$2,450 $2,112
T01 Performance Tire and Wheel Package
$900 $776
R01 Aero Package
$550 $474
B94 Splash Guards
$200 $152
T92 Trunk Mat
$70 $58
Color Adjustment - - $0 Diamond Graphite Metallic
Destination Charge
$590 $590

Total with Options
$37,160 $33,963

You also have to take about $250 off the MSRP and I would estimate $275 off the invoice price to account for the change in the wheel and tire package since it does not come with VLSD with Infiniti's mistake. Edmunds pricing does not reflect that price change yet.

So that puts invoice at $33,688.

I paid $33,796.53. A small amount over invoice. However they are putting on the OEM front spoiler as well for that price. They claimed that was $391 + labor but I know from reading the forum that price is a bit high. So with that front spoiler added it puts me under invoice price. How much? I guess if you value the spoiler around $300 I am about $200 under invoice. At least according to my calculations. Their doc fee was $359. I hate the doc fee...In my search they ranged from $100 to $495.

Just wanted to say thanks to all that responded in this post and who encouraged me to keep looking. It worked.

Kevin

Congrats on your ride but can you please explain to me how you got an '05 with Perf. Tire and Wheel and Aero? The Aero Package on a 2005 coupe requires the Sport tuned suspension or 6MT. Something's wrong here.

Sorry - I thought I already had too much detail so I skipped it. I had the dealer add the OEM spoiler on. I know I didn't get the under body diffusiers (sp?) but that doesn't really matter to me. When doing the invoice cost I thought it was safe to just add the package price. They were claiming it was $495 cost to them for putting it on (Of course I don't know for sure on this). Invoice on aero was $474.

The spoiler doesn't go on until Monday. If there is an issue adding it to this car, please tell me because I am not aware.

Thanks
Kevin

Just make sure they install an OEM spoiler and not an aftermarket one. It's been done before by dealers and people have had problems with the aftermarket ones, water leaking through the trunk, etc. So let them know you're aware of that stuff. Other than that, if you're getting both the front and rear spoiler, that's a $1200 package (Aero kit), so you've done great! Btw mind me asking how did you get the dealer to give you that deal?

Enjoy her!

Hi,

We talked about the spoiler at length. I told them it HAD to be OEM and made them write OEM spoiler on the Due Bill for both the front and rear. Once again - thanks to this forum for the heads up to make a point about that issue as I read about it last night. The salesperson even said they have seen aftermarket spoilers and even poorly installed OEM spoilers leaking and they would not do that. They have "their guy" that has done hundreds and they are perfect. I am getting the front and the rear OEM spoilers but with no diffusiers (sp?) but to be fair, I didn't want to use that package in the invoice pricing because it seemed to be overinflated. So I used $474 for the rear spolier and $300 for the front one.

Why the dealer gave this to me on an 05? It was a LONG process. But what it came down to was the fact they are not willing to lose any customer to another Infiniti dealer. Once I told them that I was not buying their used 04 coupe and was going to buy an 04 at invoice out of state the gloves came off on the 05's (they didn't have any 04 coupes to deal on). I had no connections at this dealer at all. And I don't know anyone that works for Infiniti or Nissan (VPP). It was a real bonus that this dealer is 4 miles from my house and I didn't have to book plane tickets for this weekend to get the other 04.

I did ask the dealer if he wanted me to inform other people on the internet about this price on the 05 and to give out their name and they said no and they would absolutly not sell another 05 at this price. I have to respect that. But I have a hard time believing why they would give it to me and not anyone else since I have no connection with them.

I also don't think they "got me" on the financing either as they did 3.99% for 63month. I didn't do as much research on that. Should I have done better? 2.9% is only on 04's.

Thanks
Kevin
