Infiniti Canada - Get Your Butts In Gear!! (2005 6mt pics)

My 2005 6mt is sitting at my dealer right now. They are doing the pre-delivery today, and i'm picking it up tomorrow.

Infiniti canada has still not set a price for this car - how on earth am i supposed to buy this thing with no MSRP??

Are there ANY contacts here that can suggest where to get this information.

I've tried the web-site, and called their customer support. No luck.

Did you not negotiate a final price or cap?
When I purchased my 2004, the prices were not released yet and I had a clause something like "subject to adjustment for price difference between 2003 and 2004 MSRP but not to exceed $500 CAD".

we've set a price based on 2004 MSRP. But this is just tentative. I have not discussed a subject as you describe - maybe i'll call and suggest this.

But still, it leaves the dealer (and my salesman) in a tough spot. How can he really sell this car without his company setting an MSRP?

The answer may be that the dealer knows what his cost is but just not the MSRP or suggested retail. The MSRP is not really important to them if they know their cost on the car. In any event the dealer would have a very good idea of the 6mt by comparing the price differences on other models of the '04 and 05 vintages which don't vary much.

Why should you as a customer have to worry about that? That's there own internal problem. Put the burden back on them by negotiating a cap. Besides, the dealer should have a good idea of at least a range what the MSRP will be if they already are selling them and they probably have have their dealer invoice price.

as a consumer, i want the best price possible. Lets say we set a price of $1000 over the 2004 list, and then they decide that they're only increasing by $250. I'll be choked that i've lost $750, plus tax, plus lux tax.

Then don't negotiate it that way. Set a price at whatever the difference in 2004 and 2005 MSRP will be up to a maximum of say $500. That way if they only increase it by $250 you ONLY pay $250, not $500. The $500 is a cap or maximum amount to protect you if they do increase it by some insane amount.

By they way, nice choice of colour - I think you're the 1st '05 6MT in Canada!

Hey BadG35
you must mean last manufactured red MT since there are two 04's sitting in Halifax at the dealer right now. 1 is a demo the sales manager has been driving for 5 months. I've got one of two red ones sold (03 or 04) in Atlantic Canada now and the only one on willow. I agree with you on the Brembos. I get lots of feedback on those- people asking me if I had them put on.

Cheers

Hey Rbull!

How are you buddy? Car still sleeping in the storage facility?

When I bought my car the dealer did a nationwide search for about a week and told me there was no Red MT's available. He had lot's that were other colors and honestly my wife and I were considering the Silver or Blue ones or even an 05...

Anyhow, I thought maybe he was just telling me there was no red ones so I would run out and buy off his lot, even though we are friends. So I called around and actually went in to other Infiniti dealers in the GTA, sat through the salesmen speal just to see if they could find me a red one. Anyhow after three separate dealers in Canada my salesmen (who is the owner of the dealership) called me and said he had the very last red mt in Canada. I had to race in to the dealership with my deposit before he could have the car brought in from Montreal.

So that is where I got that from. There is no doubt there might have been others but 4 other salesmen couldn't find them. Apparently this car was sold but the original owner's financing fell through so that's why I ended up with my red BABY! Love the color, you have a red one too right?

I have yet to see one in Toronto...

Sorry to hijack this thread merlyn... LOL

merlyn... phil.... it's all good.

I've finally settled on a price, and i'll be picking up my car tomorrow. I had the chance to jump on a 2004 red 6mt this summer, but the guy selling it was a dick - wanted 1200 over msrp. I called him awhile back - and he says he got what he asked for. So either he's a liar, or there is somebody in Kelowna that paid wayyyy too much for that car.

I regret the brembo drop, but it's a bling thing. IMO this will not affect my daily driving. And my car won't see any racing, so i'm not going to miss them in any functional form.

Oh, and BADG35 - since you drive a nice looking car, i don't mind you hijacking my thread.

cheers!
