Thumbs down P0442 code

Hey guys just turned on my car and Check engine light came on and took it to Advance auto and the P0442 code came on says EVAP Emissions System Leak detected any have this problem b4? something I can fix myself any help would be gladly appreciated.

It wont have any negative affects on the engine as its only a evap code.Did you refuel with the engine running as that will cause it or you have a leak in the evap system which can be a pita to find...esp if its a small one.

I'm running a Greddy exhaust as well and the evap cannister had to be moved to accommodate it. Interestingly enough I got a similar code recently... The guys who did the install are going to check it out but didn't seem too fussed about it. We'll likely just be turning the code off as moving it likely has had an effect on how it reads.

its the first time i had seen the code since i got the exhaust 5 years ago, which is weird.

yea i did and always refuel while engine is on i have that bad habit

Sometimes this code has to deal with the gas cap....

I got the P0442 code yesterday for the first time. I read it can be the fuel cap so I check to make sure it’s tight but the SES still on. Didn’t Infiniti have a recall to fix this issue?

I got the same thing today...SES light on while driving and p0442 code.... I cannot feel any changes in my g ...checked the gas cap and ses light is still on...i will reset the ses tonight and see if still comes back...if it does... What should i do next? ( G35 sedan 2003)
