Regardless of what happened. Sucks to see your g totaled. Learn from mistakes and find another car. As long as no one was hurt that's all you can ask for.

BUMP! Your story is difficult to believe....tell the insurance company you had a "Brain Fart" that's more believable!

HAHAHA........when you really become an adult you'll find "Brain Farts" aren't uncommon and a normal excuse for doing something irrational like destroying your beautiful OB coupe. Sorry that happened Decode, not bashing just making light of a bad situation.... Gary

Did they come see the car yet? Let us know if you're parting it out. I might be interested in some parts if you're going to be selling them.

You should wait for the adjuster to look at your car before you deem it a total loss and take it from there. Your adjuster will give you the options of salvaging it if it is a total loss, and if it's not a total loss, then they should stick you in a rental and fix your car for you. Al;so do not expect bluebook value for your vehicle. Usually they use a mixture of bluebook, NADA and what your car is going for in the region.

You also have the option to buy the car back from the insurance company, you should only do this if you know that you can make up the price they're asking for the car when you sell the parts. For example, a couple of months ago my wife totalled a 2001 Chrysler 300M I had, the adjustment from Geico came in, told me they'll give me $6,800 for the car and that I could keep it for $700, meaning that the total Geico would give me if I kept the car was $6,100. One reason insurance companies do this is so they don't have to deal with titles and selling your car at an auction later.
+1 That is exactly how it's going to happen.

But if you planning to keep this car with a clean title and fix it, here is what you need to do.
Insurance will total your car if repair cost is 70% or grater of the vehicle value. So you need to find a body shop that will give you a FINAL estimate below 70% of the value. But it must be final estimate.
I went through the same process just last year. To cut cost I took my G apart and sourced parts my self, took it to the shop for body work and paint and then put it all together my self. Saved me tons of money and I was able to get it all done within that 70% bracket.
As the result my car was deemed repairable, insurance paid to have it repaired, car remained in my possession and retained a clean title.

So they gave me a total loss offer of 10k... I will still owe around 4-5 k on the loan and im going to need to get another car . What am i so-post to do ? Ive never been on a accident or totaled a vehicle for that matter.

On this offer they sent me via email its saying that other 03 OB 6mt Black int Coupes with 80k miles have sold for 10k.. Thats some bs because i have never seen a g35 sell for 10k
