the insurance company is a business whose sole purpose is to make a profit...why would you think that they're first offer is going to be reasonable ??

Actually this can be done in the States too. When my car was totalled they included for sale ads for similar cars in the area when figuring out the value of my car. In my case they gave me a pretty good number so I didn't have to fight it, this was with Geico.

This is the Evaluation for Total Loss Offer.. http://www.mediafire.com/?q0iyoj8g29bm1bs

Im going to call them today and tell them what other G's are going for and how i dont accept the offer. But is there some thing else i could do ?

a lot of insurance only pay for 'loan value' or 'trade in value' of car. But yeah they lowball at first!

That estimate looks in line with the damages. You can deny their offer and try to negotiate a higher offer. Their appraisal looks right though, considering the damages. You mentioned before that you added coverage for your aftermarket parts to your policy yet I see no recognition of that in their loss eval.

$1,000 deductible? Dude you have crap insurance.

You're not getting completely hosed or anything but you should probably ask about your endorsement for your aftermarket parts. Make sure you have records of their installation and photos etc. That's really the only thing you have to go on here, other then that you take the settlement and try and get a better policy.

PS I adjust claims for a living.

You don't have gap coverage? Often times this is a part of a warranty or part of your insurance policy. If you don't then yes you are screwed.

if your going to be upside down on your loan, you might as well just make them fix it and keep the car. I agree with you, no point in paying for a car your not even using.

Or if you have shop hook ups, just take the 10k and buy it back from insurance for like $700 and fix it with aftermarket parts for cheaper.
