I talked to the gas station again today after I got the estimate and they thought it was gonna be lower than that. So the guy said he'll call me back tomorrow morning after he talks to his insurance company...they better pay the full amount..that is if the detailing actually gets the smell out. I'm also gonna call my Infiniti dealer (Ray Catena, Edison NJ, Jack Fox) tomorrow about his opinion on the matter..may need to get new seats and all if the smell won't come out. I really don't want to have to go through all that, I just want this thing settled quickly and easily.

BoB is definitely one of the finest pieces of work ever done. For some reason, I'm a huuuuuge World War I/II fan (I'm only 20, god only knows why I love it so much). I always loved to learn about it in school and the 1918-1945 time period was always my favorite part of history. I loved Saving Private Ryan and since everything Tom Hanks touches turns to gold I figured BoB wouldn't be any different. Capt. Winters (don't know his real name) is an excellent actor for this part and Ron Livingston (don't know his movie name haha) is also a perfect fit. I was just a little disappointed that David Schwimmer was only in the first episode...although he did make a random appearance in #4 or 5 for a few seconds. Not as random though as Jimmy Fallon riding up in an ammo supply truck out of nowhere...that was too funny.

Anyways, I'll let everyone know whats happening with my situation when I learn more. Thanks everyone for their input and concerns.

So it's not just jersey if you didnt know, oregon is the only other state with full serve. Thankfully when i'm at school in PA, I can put it in myself and not have anyone else touch my car.

What do I do if Auto Image still can't get the smell out? Do I take it further with Sunoco to have them pay for more damages like new seats or what?? I really hope everything can be fixed with just the detailing because I don't feel like going through the whole process of having everything redone. I just want it fixed and paid for.

PS - NJ is awesome, don't hate it just cause you don't live here Only the strong survive.
Do you live in East Brunswick?

I work in Old Bridge. May be picking up an 05 from Catena later this yr.

Full Serve is what NJ and Oregon get cause we're special. We don't have to get out of our cars and pump our own gas. We create thousands of jobs for these people as what I like to call them - petroleum distribution engineers..just to give them a better outlook on life. But they're still gas station attendants and they can never figure out how to open the gas tank door so it gets really annoying. Then of course they also spray gas IN the car sometimes. I can't wait to get back to school in PA so I can pump my own gas again.

A typical gas station carries at least 2 million dollars in liability insurance; this is not a time when you want to cut corners. They may not want to file a claim, but these events are serious enough to warrant it IMHO.

The foam in the seats will most likely 'dissolve' after coming in contact with gasoline. I would take my car to the dealer and get an estimate for a new seat, new carpet, new door interior, and a new clearcoat if the paint was damaged. Throw the DVDs and everything else into your claim.

You were an innocent customer harmed by their negligence. End of story. Get your car fixed 100% !!!!!!!!!!

I agree 100%, if that happened to me, I would have taken them to the cleaners. I would have gone ballistic when it happened. If his passenger even farts in his car, it may blow up the car. LOL

Update to the situation..

I got the interior all cleaned up with the deluxe interior package at Auto Image in East Brunswick, NJ...came out to $106. They also washed the outside and it looks like they waxed too..good thing I'm not paying for it. The only bad part is that it's snowing/raining (I like to call it 'crapping') right now in Central NJ and my friends in PA say its snowing pretty heavily there and my car sits outside all the time. I guess there goes the shine..

Anyway, back to the gas part..as most of you know, the gas was spilled on the passenger seat and the side of the door. After the detailing, all I can smell is the chemicals they've used and the gasoline smell is basically gone. A few other people smelled it and they said they couldnt notice any gas smell at all so thats good. The only thing is that the guy there said there might be some fading or discoloration of the leather over time because of the spill. He thought he saw a few spots already but they were mainly on the side passenger seat by the shoulder area and not noticeable at all unless you look at it and look for it. So I guess I'm not too worried about that..

Now I just gotta go back to the Sunoco on the turnpike and get my money back. And after many sprays of this febreeze stuff, my pillow is back to new. Slapped a new tight cover on it then a pillow sheet and you can't even smell any gas. Just a note, this wasn't a regular cheap pillow, it was one of those temperpudic (sp?) things where it conforms to your neck and back. So thats why I was mad about losing that cause its an awesome pillow...buut I got it back.

So thats (hopefully) the conclusion to my secret. I'll repost any updates if I get any trouble with the gas station or whatever.. Thanks for all the comments and input.

Everytime i stop for gas i leap from my car and pump it my self to avoid some idiot i mean pertroleum distribution engieer , from scratching my car with the nozzle or dripping gas on it. Now i can add spraying gas inside my car to the list of things i will be avoiding. I hope you get the car fized 100%

Freakin' genius. An open flame in a fuel fumed cabin. That sticky icky icky has fried a few too many of your brain cells.

Why, did the attendant get gas all over himself too?
