You're not gonna believe my story!!
damn dude, thats terrible...yea, when in jersey, i always jump out no matter wat the weather is like and pump it myself even tho its against the law. one of the first times i got gas in jersey i hear that horrible "metal against metal" clunk from when the attendant nipped the upper edge of the car when he placed the nozzle in the tank. the thing is that the gas tank hole sits in pretty deep so its hard to get a good sight of where to put the nozzle. and i watch these fools sometimes when they just yap away to their fellow countrymen as they blindly put the nozzle into the tank. its a scratch just waiting to happen. it happend to my last car, and faintly happend to my G too. so now i jump out of the car and tell the guy "nah, don't worry about it, i can pump it myself" if he gives me flak, i just say "you gonna pay for scratching my car?". on another note, i can't stand when they take the nozzle out and spill all that gas on the car! ugh! the thought makes me cringe! a few times b4 i had to get out and get napkins and wipe that stuff off cos it damages paint over time. damd dude, you seemed to have taken this quite well, good luck with it all.

I dont know how u could have trusted some guy to pump your gas. Thats how people get their cars scratched. No matter where u take it for detail, that smell wont come off. At least not within this month. I never roll the windows down in my G and I never use the air conditioning that takes air from outside. My car smells like new even after 5 months. If this ever happened to me, I would be FURIOUS. I wouldnt be thanking anyone.
Did you ask the dealer? Usually they are pretty hard core when the cars need repair and will recommend replacing anything in question.
As others mentioned, I would be concerned with long term viability of materials, especially the foam and leather.
I guess this is one time I would willingly get the advice of the dealer and/or a good body shop. I would ask my self (if I bought the car, rather than lease) "what will the affected area be like in a year?".
Good luck neighbor (bought mine from Ray Catena, but live up north).

The gas smell will fade away in a few weeks to a month, so it should clean up fine. I've spilled boat gas in my trunk a few times, and the smell always fades away. It could have been worse - at least you don't have to try to get vomit smell out of your car - that's basically impossible without replacing the upolstery.
I don't think its gonna be a long term problem, there was only a couple spots that got hit and they arent visible unless the door is open and you're staring at the seat. And as of now, the smell is not even there anymore.
...and no, we don't have to tip the attendants in NJ

Man you let them off easy!
If it was my car, they would be paying for more than that. The fact that they ruined the pillow, even though you can't smell the gas... the fact that there is damage to it, I would have demanded all new items. Who knows of the long term effects?
One day, you'll wake up with an extra lunp on your ear and go to your car that will have big white splotches on it, drive to the gas station to show him what happened and they'll say "whatcha talkin about Willis"....
