Dilemma. Help!

Hey guys, i just sold my car and ive been wanting a G35 for a little while now (05+, 6mt). One problem though, im about 4g's short for the average price of one I cant get a loan because im 18 still (19 in mid april). I dont think I can get my parents to co-sign because they are tied down with car payments, mortgage.

SO, there is only one g35 coupe in my area within my price range. Its an 03, 6mt,120kms (74k miles). It looks pretty clean, and I can provide a link if you want to see.

With that said, should I go for the 03, even though i was really set on an 05+? Will the difference between the years really be a let down? Or should I look at a different car entirely, that is maybe a little newer and in my price range?

Wait.... Why can't you get a car loan cause your 18? You might be better off applying for the difference with an auto loan and have a higher chance of getting approved cause you have a decent down payment. As long as they aren't paying close to what the book value is banks usually never have a problem approving the amount despite lack of credit

with $10k down i dont see it being an issue getting into a car loan. our lenders (at my dealership in texas anyway) generally require a 2006 or newer with less than 65k miles for a first time buyer.

i would check with a local dealership or bank to see what they recommend.

I bought my second car when I was 17 without a cosigner with 1/2 down while a senior in high school. Being 18 you shouldn't have an issue getting a loan....Gary

well since all of you had no trouble, hopefully i wont either.

My dad went to go look at the 03 coupe today, but the lot was closed. He said the place looked rundown and shady. However, he will be out in the area again during the week and will take an actual look at it.

As I said, hopefully I can get into the bank tomorrow or the day after. Will provide updates then.

long as you have a steady job, it shouldn't be a problem for you to get a loan. You'll probably end up paying some outragous interest though like 13% or something since you have no credit.

Im 18 too and must live pretty close to you cause im about an hour away from new west, i just got my 04 coupe in december. If you plan on doing any modding and customizing id definitely just recommend getting the 03, even if not i could have waited awhile and gotten an 05 but i really didnt think it was worth it, and i dont regret it at all im loving my car. You should take both for a test drive and see if its really worth spending 5k+ more on a car thats 2 years newer cause you could just supercharge the 03 for that much too
