I am thinking of getting rid of my G...
drove it 9 years, 153k miles...
I am not married like you but I want a comfortable 4 door now...

but at the same time, I don't think I can do it since I'm so attached to it...

congrats on the baby!

Quote: i feel you on the mpg, im right around the same numbers you posted. it kind of sad to think a 400 hp C-6 gets better mpg than us...
i traded my g for a 640 hp supercharged c6 and i can get 27 mpg on the highway with a 6 speed... around 13 in the city though (big cam)...

Quote: If you're that low, I would venture to say you've got some basic maintenance to do. Tire pressure, air filter, oil change, spark plugs etc...something. All of those seem like small things but they can add up when it comes to gas mileage.

On the other hand, it could be lead foot as well. I average 22 mpg overall every tank.
Did the tire pressure, air filter and oil change already. Next thing I'm trying is spark plug. 16-18 is like 90% street driving shifting at 3k on the dot or even earlier. I don't drive it like it's built for unfortunately.. got a slipping clutch I'm about to replace..

G sedan? That's an alternative.. unless you don't like the looks of it too much.

^ If you think you won't like the look of a sedan too much, you should check out CandlestickPark's sedan. Sickest one I've ever seen. There's some serious potential for a sedan.

As much as I miss aspects of the G, I haven't missed a beat with the GLI. The GLI isn't much slower than the G, if any slower from what I can tell. The ride is super smooth, and the premium Fender system is top notch. Oh and 30+ mpg helps
