School me on Test Pipes VS Torque gains/loss!!
Hey Driver, as per subject.. i'm planning on installing TurboXs test pipes instead of the berks hfcs i currently have and my main concern is the torque, low end to be particular (below 3000).
Had a small research going, and most results show that:
- There will be HP gains on the high end
- The sound will be deeper and more noticeable
- A smell may arise at idle
- Some rattling/rasping might be expected
- Mileage will decrease since the ECU will have wrong readings.
Has anyone noticed any gains or losses in torque after installing test pipes? low end, high end.. SCHOOL ME ON TEST PIPES BROS!
The car is a stock 2005 revup 6mt.
Thanks!

what you researched is correct.
TPs give a few extra at the top and you can notice a lack of low end torque...makes a significant sound difference, definitely a more raw sound bc you have nothing constricting it and louder.
Honestly though if you have HFC thats your best option and you wont notice much of a difference of TPs... personally i dont like berk bc they are so raspy but functionally they are good.
if you want to spend $$ trade your berk HFC and get some Motordyne Art pipes... benefits of TPs but you keep low torque only thing... they are still illegal and expensive for 2 more hw and 8 more torque
