Grinding Noise When Moving

Grinding Noise When Moving

ok so just about an hour ago i heard a strange grinding sound coming from my car but only when i'm dis-engaging the clutch (as in moving the car from a complete stop) i hear this noise but once it's moving and i shift into 2nd i don't hear anything any ideas on what it could be???

You mean engaging the clutch?

Can you describe the noise.. Is it metalic sounding, or plastic/rubbery? Does it happen regardless of direction.

Perhaps best if you can record it and post it.

Could be an exhaust shield rattle, wheel bearing, anything.

Search ABS self test. Happens every time you start the car and begin moving. I think it kicks in between 5-10 MPH, lasts only for a second, and to me sounds like I ran over a grate. It's normal so no worries.

That the one that sounds almost like water rushing? Or is that coolant circulating?
