I have 1000$

As the title implies i have roughly 1000$ to spend on a few upgrades this summer. I have a 2004 6mt with the following mods:

-CAI
-MD 5/16th spacer
-Magnaflow eshaust (came on the car when I bought it)
- 20" TSW Snetterton wheels
-The car is still running the factory ECU and has not been tuned yet

Which of the following would you suggest next?

- Lightweight Pullies (not under driven)
- Z1 Lightweight Aluminum Driveshaft
- Grounding Kit
- Sway Bars
- ART Test Pipes
- Short Throw Shifter
- Tune from either Z1 or Forged Performance
- Something Ive missed ....

Im thinking the sway bars for sure and maybe a tune but im not sure if I should add one or more of the above before getting the car tuned since I wont have the money to keep getting the car retuned.

Thanks in advance.

I dont have any needed maintenance as I purchased the car only 3000 miles ago and took care of everything then. Im mostly looking for performance mods right now. Ill upgrade the headlights/taillights when the current ones get really yellow (headlights only).

Thanks for the quick reply.

Spark plugs were replaced 3000 miles ago. Im kinda leaning toward sways and tune. Im going to save a little more so I can get a good set of coils. And unfortunately there are a few place on campus that even with the stock ride hight and 20" wheels i still scrub, so lowering is a little out of the question.

Thanks for all the replies.

Sway bars and a crank pulley. Youll still have money left over.

I'd say sway bars too, and maybe other suspension upgrades. Assuming the car has all original other suspension components, they're probably rather worn at this point. Shocks, bushings, etc... You'll notice these improvements every time you drive the car.

Sway bars and ART pipes, then you'll only need a couple hundred more for a tune. Aluminim driveshaft after that.

You already have some good mods, I suggest Motordyne or Stillen sways since you'll feel the difference when driving and both are adjustable. You could also add SLPs adjustable endlinks which will really tighten your suspension down....there your $1K is gone.

Get sway bars, they are worth every penny.

-CAI

-Magnaflow eshaust (came on the car when I bought it)
- 20" TSW Snetterton wheels

if you like the way these are then good start. Personally i would look into a different exhaust.

Which of the following would you suggest next?

- Lightweight Pullies (not under driven)
Not worth it
- Z1 Lightweight Aluminum Driveshaft
cant speak from experience but my instincts say no
- Grounding Kit
again no
- Sway Bars
make a nice difference, +1 here
- ART Test Pipes
I dont think they are worth extra $$ over regualr TPs or HFC. I would get some high flow cats and call it a day, nice gains, better sound (imo), and you dont have to worry about inspection
- Short Throw Shifter
1000x no. I had a short throw in my car when i bought it and it was the first thing that went. I think the stock gearbox/shifter is godly in our cars.
- Tune from either Z1 or Forged Performance
test pipes and a tune +1

- Something Ive missed ....

Im not sure how much you want to buy used parts... but im a big advocate of the marketplace. You could get a really nice set of used coilovers for that price. Or you can get sway bars, TPs/HFC, and a tune.
I would definelty focus on suspension with that money first, especially since you seem to have some other things done already.
As for the tune, its worth it. Idk where you are from but JDS motoring and Rt Tuning in the tri-state area are both very good places for tuning.

hope this helps!
